Commercial Finance Business Partner

Reports to: Head of Commercial Finance (Jon Davies)

Role Purpose

A data centric role for someone with exceptional Excel skills and the desire to build robust models to help support the provision of management information to key stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be a commercially focused, trusted member of the accounts team, working to support, challenge and underpin budgeting and forecasting processes, with a key focus on cash management. They will also help to support the wider business decision making process through provision of relevant, accurate, insightful, and timely management information and analysis.

Responsibilities
  • Manage cash forecasting process to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Maintain and develop a rolling integrated P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow forecast to manage stakeholder expectations of future performance and covenant compliance, including booking forecast by brand
  • Support the annual budgeting process through collation and consolidation of submissions into an integrated budget model
  • Ensure full visibility of budgets and forecast targets for brands in trading reports
  • Assist in the development and preparation of a monthly board pack
  • Working with the wider finance and operational team, identify and develop gaps in trading data to help manage the provision of data to the business on a daily / weekly basis
  • Work with brand managers to provide insightful sales analysis and identify future opportunities
  • Work with financial reporting team to develop a P&L model to report on month and YTD performance by channel and brand
  • Support finance team on future developments to Management Accounts pack
  • Prepare ad hoc commercial analysis
  • Manage and regularly review a forecast process for other income streams to the business
  • Support development of other members of finance team
Technical Knowledge & Experience
  • Qualified accountant
  • Advanced excel skills
  • Travel knowledge preferred, but not essential
