Training Manager

Reports to: Director of Sales & Operations

Job Purpose:

Reporting into the Sales and Operations Director, responsible for setting and delivering a comprehensive training and coaching strategy on an annual basis to sales and support teams across the business.  To ensure we have highly skilled and performing teams that are achieving set KPI’s. To ensure there is a culture of continual improvement that aids development and addresses performance needs.

Responsible for training users across the business on new system rollouts, or new processes and procedures that are business critical, ensuring continual assessment after rollout to feel confident there is engagement and consistency of use across teams.

Responsible for collation and delivery of highly motivational and tailored induction plan for new starters across the business.  

Main Responsibilities 

  • Responsible for creating a high energy sales culture focused on consistently utilising the Sales Call Model on a daily basis and measuring the effectiveness and improvements in performance
  • Monthly review with Sales Managers and Coach to review individual performance (Sales/Profit/Errors/issues etc) and identify training needs and agree who will provide support and what that support will look like
  • Deliver sales coaching when required alongside Sales Coach
  • Deliver robust training on new systems to users across the business, identifying superusers to support in the successful rollout, implementation and consistency of use where required
  • Measure and assess the effectiveness of new system roll out identifying efficiencies and level of engagement and understanding
  • New process/procedure/guidelines etc properly rolled out and training provided, understanding and competence checked and sign off
  • Identify miscellaneous training requirements of sales teams across the business and deliver power sessions throughout the year via various channels e.g. webinars, to address, to aid improvement in performance and delivery of KPI’s
  • Working with Sales and Service Director and Sales Managers to support the delivery of training session to aid their personal development as leaders and managers
  • Identify 3rd party training courses that would aid the upskilling of sales teams such as GDS training, inspirational speakers, online travel training
  • Working closely with Sales and Service Director, Sales Managers and Group Head of Sales Operations, create efficiencies in working practise that can drive value to the business
  • Ensuring consistency with training and sales coaching across the group and achievement of set KPI’s as agreed with the Sales and Service Director
  • Collating an inspiring training and induction plan for new starters to the business, bespoke for their role ensuring new members of the team refer to their training plan as ‘outstanding’
  • Deliver induction plans along with other key managers across the business in a ‘new starter’ environment
  • Along with Sales Managers, assess new starters throughout their probation to ensure successful sign off
  • Management – alongside sales managers – of post trip training sessions
  • Improvements in individual sales performance
  • Improvements in set KPI’s such as conversion and margin
  • Success rate at new system roll out
  • Success rate at delivery of training during probation and staff retention
  • Ad hoc support to Sales Managers is required

Education, Skills and Experience

  • Proven background in designing and delivering motivational training and coaching sessions
  • Sales and travel background
  • Knowledge of Travelink, Amadeus, CRM, telephony systems
  • Previous experience of developing others
  • Excellent presentation skills
