This summer I was delighted to spend the night at Sandy Lane in Barbados. It’s been a dream of mine for the past 10 years to visit the most iconic hotel in the Caribbean and it certainly did not disappoint!
The kids’ club is the best place to have fun with or without your kids and the many children in the Treehouse Club over the summer holidays were all having a ball. Dining at Bajan Blue was wonderful; the restaurant was buzzing with guests all having a wonderful evening and enjoying a great meal al fresco in the Caribbean warmth. One of my personal highlights was the most amazing spa treatment I have ever had; the heated bed, duvet and eye pillow meant that I did want to leave. And I have to say that driving the Green Monkey golf course at Sandy Lane was an unexpected treat and has actually inspired me to take golf lessons ahead of my next visit; wish me luck with that as I have a feeling I might need it..!
The weather was very kind to us during “off season”, so I would happily recommend a visit at any time during the year but to stay at Sandy Lane at Christmas would be simply magical. That can only ever be a fantasy for me but I am so pleased that we get to organise holidays that create such special memories at Christmas time at Sandy Lane for our lovely clients. The hotel thinks of everything, even down to the great thought that goes into the stunning Christmas presents that each and every guest receives.
It seemed to me that Sandy Lane has got it right for all guests, no matter what their age. The hotel was playing host to many multi-generational families and all guests that I saw had a smile, which says a lot. I think though that mine was the widest smile of all. Sandy Lane you have made my dreams come true, right down to the champagne on check-out; such a lovely touch and a lasting memory.
