A Seychelles luxury travel experience

Last week I had the opportunity to travel to that remote, sparkling gem of the Indian Ocean; the Seychelles. With flights via the Middle East and a couple of hours on the ground, it may not be the easiest place to get to but I promise you, this luxury holiday experience is well worth every second of the journey. And what a journey!

I flew with Etihad Airways via Abu Dhabi and travelled in their superb Business Class cabin. As an Account Manager here at the Inspiring Travel Company I have had the privilege of taking many business class flights, but I must say I was still wowed by how fantastic the crew and the luxury surrounds were. The seats were incredibly comfortable and spacious, they even had an inbuilt massage feature! The food was equally excellent, varied and delicious. Most importantly, the champagne was very much free flowing throughout the flight! What more could you want?

Arriving on the main island of Mahé, we were whisked to the white powder beach and immaculate villas at Four Seasons Seychelles. Despite being on the main island, this luxury Seychelles resort is incredibly private. One of my favourite things about the Four Seasons was the seclusion of the beach. Although all beaches in the Seychelles are public, the hotel's location in a picturesque cove means that only guests can access it. This was definitely the picture perfect beach for my early morning run!

The it was onto the barefoot luxury of North Island, an achingly exclusive private island that we reach via 15-minute helicopter ride from Mahé; yet another highlight! This ultra-luxe resort really does make you feel like you're in another world! Nothing is too much trouble for the private butlers whose subtle but dedicated service is second to none. And I will never forget North Island's incredible chef. There was a menu for guidance, but he was very insistent on creating a dish that wasn't on the menu that I would like. Sushi and sashimi is a particular favourite of mine, so he said he would 'wow' me. He very much succeeded with fish caught just that morning on a platter which was nearly as big as the table. It was fresh, tasty and truly the best selection I have ever eaten!

Back on Mahé, we stayed at Maia Luxury Resort & Spa where we stayed in the jaw-dropping Ocean Panoramic Villas, which boast from a dedicated butler service and private plunge pool. The views here are sublime, whether from your infinity-edge pool, balcony or even the luxurious bath tub, it really was like a dream! You can see down to the beach and out across the deep blue of the Indian Ocean, and yet you are never more than five minutes from the resort's main facilities (your butler will take you wherever you like on your buggy!). With another 'anywhere, anytime, anything' policy on dining, what more could you want for an escape from daily life?

These beautiful islands have completely charmed me. I can imagine them as a setting that would equally suit a luxury family holiday or an extra-special honeymoon. And if it's adventure you're after, the lush jungles and abundant ocean life here offer plenty of opportunity for exploration! My fellow Travel Specialists and I will be happy to advise you on the perfect property for your dream Seychelles holiday.
