All-inclusive luxury at Sandals Barbados

After recently visiting Sandals Barbados, a luxury all-inclusive resort in the trendy St Lawrence Gap area, I just could not wait to come back and tell you all about it!

Prior to arriving at this luxury adult-only resort, I had some preconceptions about staying at the chain-owned property, but after seeing all Sandals Barbados has to offer any concerns quickly evaporated.

Guests enter by beautiful coral stone gates and drive through manicured gardens to the elegant, open-sided lobby at the centre of the resort, where staff are waiting to give you a huge warm welcome and get you quickly checked-in to your luxury accommodation.

The rooms here are tasteful and modern in style with cool blues, whites and dark woods. All accommodation offers a generous amount of space and great views of the gardens, pools or the Caribbean Sea. Those wanting something a bit more luxurious can choose a Crystal Lagoon Swim-up Room, which offers direct access to the sprawling lagoon pool and sunken sun loungers to keep cool. Alternatively, you could take one of the suites with a Tranquillity Soaking Tub on the balcony, in which you can enjoy a speciality rum punch or glass of Champagne with your loved one. This is just one feature that makes this resort perfect for a Caribbean couples holiday on the exclusive island of Barbados.

For something truly special - perhaps a luxury Barbados honeymoon - Butler Level room categories offer the personal service that you would expect in a well-staffed grand home, along with every amenity imaginable. Luxurious baths offer room for two and a bar stocked with top-shelf spirits and wines is provided as part of your all-inclusive package. Your butler is on hand 24-hours a day and will supply you with a mobile phone so that you can request their service wherever you are, whenever you like.

Sandals Barbados has three large pool areas, one of which is located next to the pristine white sandy beach. This beachside pool area is perfect for those seeking a lively spot during the day, with great music and an upbeat atmosphere. For a relaxing swim, the lagoon pool is a great place to soak in the natural sounds and laze in the Caribbean sun.

For active holidaymakers, Sandals Barbados has the largest operation of watersports on the island; from Hobie Cats, windsurfing and paddleboarding to Aquatrikes, waterskiing and sailing. For those that want to explore abundant life below the water's surface, PADI Scuba Diving tuition is also available. What's more, unlimited access to all this and more is always part of your all-inclusive stay.

Whilst in Barbados, I highly recommend you take the Island Safari Tour; a round trip of the island, taking you to the coolest hot spots, and places only accessible by 4x4 vehicles. With fun and outgoing guides; exciting, off-the-beaten-track routes introducing you to the island’s most scenic locations; and specially designed jeeps to ensure your comfort, this promises to be one of the highlights of your stay.

If you just want to completely relax and unwind then head to the Red Lane Spa. Discover a completely unique mind and body experience that transforms you inside and out. With a wide range of treatments you will be sure to find something to suit you.

When it comes to dining you will be spoilt for choice every mealtime by the great selection of restaurants. At Kimonos Oriental Restaurant, you can enjoy a private dinner or join a group around a traditional teppanyaki table and watch the theatrical display as your food is cooked right in front of you. Other options include Butch’s Chophouse, an à la carte steakhouse; Portofino's Italian; Schooners Seafood Grill and so much more!

But the evening does not end there. Every week Sandals hosts a themed night on the beach with great music, limbo dancers and exciting fire eaters. Alternatively, you can relax in the Merry Monkey English Pub, which offers an upbeat atmosphere giving you the chance to socialise with other guests. Or why not head to the entertainment quarter where you can watch live bands, singers and dance acts?

With so much to offer, I would highly recommend this luxury Barbados resort both for a couple seeking a romantic break and for groups of friends looking for fun in a distinctly grown-up setting.
