Artist in residence at St Lucia hotel

This September the luxurious East Winds Inn in St Lucia will be offering an ‘Artist in Residence Week’. During the 14-21 September, British Wildlife artist, Brin Edwards, will be at the hotel for one week only, inviting guests to join in with a number of activities and events; which are all included in their stay.

A member of the UK’s SWLA Society of Wildlife Artists, Brin has been involved in the organisation for many years and works mainly in oils, concentrating mostly on depicting birds as his subjects

“I strongly believe that such images deliver from a distance. By which I mean step back from the painting and the colours and tones begin to work as a whole, look close and you’ll find less not more. To say much with few marks and gestures is the aim and driving force behind my work,” says Brin.

During the week at East Winds Inn guests will be able to partake in teaching mornings with the artist concentrating on landscapes and botanical subjects in watercolour. They’ll also be able to peruse Brin’s selection of illustrated Christmas cards which he has designed for the hotel for many years.

An invitation to a private viewing event with Champagne in the Club House, including a presentation by Brin Edwards about his work, will also be on offer as well as a bird watching day trip with the artist and a local guide.

This boutique-style hotel is set within beautiful gardens and enclosed by a picturesque beachfront. We currently have a significant reduction for the hotel, saving up to £485 per person for travel before the end of October 2014.
