Asian-Inspired Luxury in Alicante

At the Inspiring Travel Company we’re proud of our Travel Specialists’ first-hand knowledge, gained from visiting our luxury hotels and resorts, allowing them to offer our valued clients first-hand advice and expert recommendations. Travel Specialist, Leanne McGarrity, recently returned from the beautiful Asia Gardens resort in sunny Alicante. This was her first visit to this popular luxury property; this is what she had to say…

A Very Warm Welcome

After a short hop from London Gatwick to Alicante, we picked up our hire car and drove the 45-minute journey to Asia Gardens. I have to say, upon arriving, I was genuinely blown away at the beauty of this hotel. Inspired by a south-east Asian spa resort, Thai-style architecture, Balinese décor and authentic touches run throughout the property, set within an acre of enchanting pine forest.

The hospitality was no less impressive. After a super-swift check-in, we were shown to our room by the warmest host for whom nothing was too much trouble. The accommodation was spacious, immaculate and tasteful, and we could even spot the sea from our balcony, despite it being a Garden View Room. Arriving to the resort late, we simply couldn’t wait to curl up in the luxurious king-size bed and refresh for more exploring the next day.

First-Class Food

We woke up revitalised… and hungry. Good job the breakfast was amazing – there was so much choice and all the food was delicious. A highlight was my omelette from the live cooking station that was filled and flipped to perfection!

While staying on a half-board basis, we couldn’t resist lunch at the pool restaurant a few times (once while watching England beat Panama in the World Cup!). The food was fabulous, the service was friendly, and the prices were reasonable – what more could you want?

The resort boasts a staggering nine restaurants, serving flavoursome Asian, Mediterranean and international cuisine. Though every meal was great, the final night’s dinner at the Koh Samui restaurant was my definite dining highlight. An elegant and ornately-furnished restaurant, Koh Samui serves fragrant Thai classics alongside some exciting contemporary fusions, perfectly in keeping with the style of the entire resort.

Rest and Relaxation

Gracefully cascading through truly stunning tropical gardens (I was seriously blown away by them), the hotel’s pools are fabulous. I loved nothing more than lying beside the tranquil adults-only pool and soaking up the Spanish sunshine, while being waited on by the attentive servers.

As I was relaxed enough by the pool, I didn’t sample the resort’s Thai Spa, but I couldn’t resist a peek! A haven of relaxation and rejuvenation, the stunning spa offers traditional Thai treatments and spiritual therapies, as well as yoga and Thai Chi.

Fabulous Facilities

The hotel offers much more than just relaxation though! The Pirate Kids’ Club provides plenty of fun and themed parties for younger guests, while cocktail workshops and cookery demonstrations are great for adults. Two 18-hole golf courses lie just adjacent to the property, or, for family fun, a theme park and water park are just a short drive away.

My stay at Asia Gardens was fantastic from start to finish, and I will not hesitate to recommend this unique luxury resort to clients, family and friends alike. I hope to head back soon!
