It’s official…today is the ‘most depressing day of the year’, according to statistics. And, when teamed with it also being the coldest so far this winter, there’s no better time to jet off to sunnier shores.
So with that in mind, we thought we’d put together some of our finest last minute luxury travel offers where the temperatures are balmy, the sky blue, the Champagne flowing and the savings high. Of course, should somewhere different take your fancy, our Travel Specialists are at the end of the line to offer their advice and suggestions.
1. Dubai deal
The Emirate of Dubai is a great year-round destination, but winter is a particularly good time for family travel; as temperatures hover in the mid-20’s, unlike the intense 30’s of summer. Travel between this Saturday and the 21 March and you could save up to £260 per person off a 5-night stay at The Westin Dubai Mina Seyahi Beach Resort & Marina, Dubai. Although our Dealuxe rate is for a couple, speak to your Travel Specialist about room rates for families if you’re travelling with kids in tow or perhaps during February Half Term. There are plenty of children’s activities here to keep younger guests smiling.
2. Cut-price Caribbean
Now is one of the best times to visit the Caribbean, as the spring months are when it offers its finest weather. But despite it being peak season, you can still grab a last minute deal to these stunning islands. One of the best we think we’ve seen is to Crystal Cove on Barbados. The saving we’re offering (if you book by the end of January, excluding some dates before 6 Jan 2016) cuts your luxury holiday by £479 per person; meaning that a 7-night, all-inclusive, stay, including flights and transfers is just £1,675 per person!
3. Last minute Mauritius
The Indian Ocean island of Mauritius is stunning at this time of year, with our sources telling us it’s a glorious 33°C today…take a ‘3’ off and you have the current temperature at ITC headquarters in Chester! If you can travel before 15 Apr this year, you’ll enjoy savings at luxurious Le Touessrok; where our special promotion of £1,449 per person includes 7-nights accommodation, daily breakfast, flights and transfers.
4. Short-haul sunshine
Of course you don’t need to spend a day in the air to seek warmer climates, as southern Europe boasts toasty temperatures during winter, but without the busy resorts or the high heat of peak summer. Take Tenerife for example, where January and February linger in the late-teens. Or Lanzarote; where PM David Cameron and his family holidayed last year. If you can manage to jet off before the second week of Feb, you might be able to secure 7 nights in a Junior Suite at the Princesa Yaiza Suite Hotel Resort on the islands for just £799 per person.
5. Massive Maldives saving
And finally, to complete our quintet of last minute luxury deals to beat those January blues, there’s a vast saving of £1,780 per person in the Maldives. If you travel to the Hideaway Beach Resort & Spa before 15 Apr (temperatures this week are forecast in the early thirties…bliss!), you can enjoy a Funa Pavilion for 7 nights, with flights, transfers and breakfast, for £2,875 per person…the ultimate way to cheer up your Blue Monday.
