One&Only Reethi Rah
Located on one of the biggest private islands in the Maldives, One&Only Reethi Rah is the perfect combination of relaxing, blissful escape and fun-filled family holiday. With plenty of sun, world-famous hospitality and adventures to suit everyone, this is one of the best places for a family holiday in 2021.
The ultra-luxe spacious villas at this Maldivian favourite offer plenty of space for extended family, while the location guarantees an array of adventures. Grand Beach and Water Villas come with butler service, daily fresh fruit, a private four-seater buggy and plenty more amenities to make your family holiday a breeze.
Of course, there’s plenty here for the grown-ups – think private yacht charters, PADI-certified diving, an incredible spa, the picture-perfect beach – but there’s also a seemingly unending list of things for younger travellers to enjoy too, ensuring a family holiday that really does tick everyone’s box.
The excellent KidsOnly club offers everything from sushi making and snorkelling to pottery classes and practicing penalties on the FIFA-approved pitch, so the little ones (aged 4 to 11) can play while you sink your toes into the sand, armed with a cocktail. For visitors aged 12 to 17, OneTribe offers a dedicated Clubhouse and selection of classes, activities and events designed to help foster friendships that will last well beyond your holiday.
The Kids Buddy system is fantastic for making sure your little ones get the absolute most out of the holiday experience. Available to guests younger than 12, the programme offers each child a completely personalised schedule of activities designed to appeal to their personality and interests.
Escape to Sardinia and delight even your fussiest relatives with the wide choice available at this luxury Italian holiday destination. There’s a wide range of multiple four and five-star hotels and even luxury villas to select your home base from. Then there are ten unique areas of the resort to explore; so it’s no problem if you’re in the mood for a relaxing stroll through tropical gardens one day and the little ones want to play on the beach the next.
While you’re relaxing, you can send the kids off on adventures that will be the envy of their friends – the children’s wonderland in-resort has bowling, a Barbie activity centre, go-karting and plenty more. Got any budding Premier League stars in the family? Hit the Chelsea football academy so they can brush up their skills ahead of next season.
Set sail with the resort’s exclusive yacht chartering service and spend a day exploring this beautiful area’s hidden beaches and dramatic coastlines. This is a great choice for family holidays in 2021, thanks to superb choice and excellent service.
If your family is an active one, book a trip to Parklane for a luxury adventure tailor-made for sports fanatics. Guests aged 5-15 can enrol on the Football Escapes course, which is coached by football A-listers (the team includes Rio Ferdinand, Rachel Yankey, Michael Owen and Ashley Cole). Every child who enrols receives coaching from their heroes and a full kit (which includes a t-shirt, shorts, socks and shin guards). There’s also a medal and certificate upon completion of the course, which will be a wonderful souvenir.
More of a beach babe than a football fanatic? No problem, thanks to the 300-metre long beach that fronts this 25-acre property. Parklane’s location means Limassol is only 15 minutes away by car, so daytrips to explore the historic harbour and bustling centre are simple.
Elsewhere in the resort there’s plenty to keep your family occupied, including the 3,000 sq m Park Kidz adventure park, complete with a castle, waterslide, playground and a pool with its own pirate ship!
Mandarin Oriental, Canouan
What could be more special than a tropical island retreat? As the team at Mandarin Oriental Canouan say, “tell us what you want, and we’ll make it happen.” And they really do mean it – fancy a picnic on the cliff? A private beach cricket match? How about an island-wide treasure hunt? The world is your family’s luxury oyster here. We think this really is one of the best places for a Caribbean family holiday in 2021.
Those with a penchant for the aquatic might head out on a sea turtle spotting expedition or take a sailing trip to some of the local Pirates of the Caribbean filming sites. You could also go snorkelling around the beautiful Tobago Cays.
On land, there’s the wonderful Mount Royal – the team here will guide you on an amazing daytime hike for epic views. There’s also daytrips like deep-sea fishing in the surrounding waters or visiting local islands in the Grenadines, should you wish to venture further afield with your family.
Sugar Beach, A Viceroy Resort
Everyone could do with a bit of a break after 2020, and at this St Lucian resort even kids get their own dedicated spa treatments! The Rainforest Spa has a specially created menu for those 5-11 and one for those 12-17. We highly recommend trying some of the treatments that use local chocolate!
Once you’re done relaxing, Sugar Beach is a place to make unforgettable memories, whether you’re rainforest ziplining, scuba diving, or soaring over the island on a helicopter tour.
The Sugar Club’s activities for youngsters aged 4 to 12 means your brood will never have time to be bored. Coconut bowling, treasure hunts, sandcastle building, billiard tournaments, video games, kayaking and paddle boarding are just some of the ways your youngsters can spend their days here.
On this island paradise, every villa has its own butler (called Mr or Mrs Friday!) and a set of bicycles for family adventures around the resort. New this year are the water slide villas, which will take your holiday Instagram game to the next level! Sure to delight young visitors (and those who are still a kid at heart), slides plunge straight into the impossibly blue waters – perfect for cooling off after a day in the hot sun.
This Maldivian resort is in the Baa Atoll, a UNESCO-protected Bisophere Reserve, so the marine life and landscapes here are superb. There are over 30 dive sites nearby, and a private sandbank available for any special dinners or camping trips you might have planned on your luxury Indian Ocean family holiday.
Then there’s the outdoor Cinema Paradiso, where family movie nights are taken up a notch with a giant screen floating over the waves and complimentary freshly cooked popcorn to snack on. You can also spend evenings at the observatory, head out on a guided snorkelling adventure, take part in local cooking classes, spot native wildlife, dine in luxury at the amazing restaurants and even indulge in complimentary chocolate and ice cream parlours! There are up to 60 flavours of ice cream on offer, so you really could spend your entire holiday simply heading back to refill your cone!
Atlantis, The Palm
Dubai is always fantastic for holidays with the family, and Atlantis, The Palm is a superlative spot with so much to do as part of your stay. Wavehouse is the place to be for youngsters (and the young at heart!), with a bowling alley, an amazing surf wave rider and properly sensational burgers on offer.
Family holidays can be difficult to manage in terms of dining – everybody wants something different and you’ve got fussy eaters to appease. Foodie families will be in their element here, thanks to a truly world-class dining experience. The excellent Half Board package means you’ll be able to sample an array of amazing meals here, and there’s something to entice even the pickiest of eaters. From breakfast to supper, you and your family will be spoilt for choice; there’s Lebanese cuisine, Tex-Mex favourites, Asian specialities and destination restaurants including Gordon Ramsay’s Bread Street and Nobu.
Four Seasons Walt Disney
Of course we had to include Disney in our list! As well as being almost literally on the Cinderella Castle’s doorstep and having Universal Studios 25 minutes away, this luxury resort has a whole host of facilities and activities to make your family holiday unforgettable from start to finish.
The property, full of quintessential Four Seasons style, has its own five-acre waterpark, a beautiful lazy river and a complimentary kids’ club. While the youngsters are off having the time of their lives, the grown-ups might fancy a restorative dip at Oasis, the adult-only pool area.
Goofy and his friends make an appearance each morning for breakfast at Ravello restaurant, so let us book you the best seat in the house to share pancakes with your favourite characters! A luxury Disney holiday is the perfect way to get in some quality family time.
Six Senses Samui
For something a little different, jet off to Thailand for an incredible luxury jungle experience. Your private Guest Experience Maker will be on hand to completely tailor every activity to your family.
Youngsters can try Muay Thai, cooking, sustainability walks, games, umbrella painting and even coconut leaf origami – a true paradise. The Library at the resort offers plentiful activities for budding artists – including rock painting, traditional batik making and even soap making. Make sure your little ones get a stamp for their Six Senses passport – each resort around the world has its own unique stamp.
Whether you choose to take to the water for watersports, head on a gourmet picnic somewhere in the lush Thai landscape, or even head out on a personalised tour to a local village, your Guest Experience Maker will create the perfect itinerary for your family holiday in Asia.
Reunion Resort Orlando
Treat the whole family to this palatial eight-room luxury villa; and when we say ‘the whole family’, we really mean it – this villa sleeps up to 20! Whether you’re coming on a multi-generational trip with grandparents in tow, or are holidaying with cousins, nieces and nephews, this is a fantastic option for a luxury USA family holiday.
Set amongst one of Florida’s most beautiful landscapes, within the villa you’ll find a games room, home theatre, al fresco dining area, private pool and even a secret themed playroom. Children’s rooms are also themed to make their stay even more fun. Should you manage to tear yourself away, the Disney parks are a short drive away!
Golfers will be in heaven here – this is the only place you can enjoy rounds on courses designed by three of the golfing greats (Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus and Tom Watson). Other resort activities include yoga, tennis, luxury spa treatments and picturesque bike trails. Plus, of course, you’re ideally located for all of Orlando’s iconic attractions.
