Here at the Inspiring Travel Company we’re thrilled to learn that, from March 2018, our trusted airline partner British Airways are launching a direct flight from the UK to the Seychelles. Currently travellers from British shores can only reach the Indian Ocean archipelago by transferring in France and the Middle East, so this new route will mean a much more direct journey.
Flights will run twice a week between March and October, leaving London Heathrow Terminal 5 on Wednesdays and Saturdays, with return flights on Thursdays and Sundays. This means a more flexible holiday length; stay for a week, 10 days, or more. The best news, however has to be a flight time of 10 hours; the previous minimum time being over 13, so this makes a huge difference. You'll now spend less time in transit and more time enjoying this picturesque destination.
One of the world’s most iconic luxury holiday destinations, the islands of the Seychelles are famed for their pristine beaches with white sand so powdery soft even seasoned travellers are ‘wowed’. Indeed, British Airways’ Director of Network and Alliances, Sean Doyle said of the new route: “The Seychelles is one of the most beautiful places on earth and we’re delighted to be adding this collection of islands to our extensive route network.”
Flights from Heathrow will arrive at Seychelles International Airport on the country’s main island Mahé, which is itself home to plenty of luxury resorts such as Four Seasons Resort Seychelles. Just a short drive from the airport, you’re soon in paradise here, as our Travel Specialist Kelsey Frogget found on her stay at the resort.
Of course, there are also plenty of private island idylls to choose from, accessible by light aircraft or helicopter, one outstanding example being North Island. Chosen by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge for their honeymoon, this exclusive resort featured in the BBC2 documentary The Millionaires’ Holiday Club, and you can read all about Travel Specialist Holly Westwood’s stay there on our travel blog.
These new flights to the Seychelles will be operated by a state-of-the-art fleet of aircrafts, the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, with four cabin classes available. Choose from First, Club, World Traveller Plus and World Traveller, all providing a smooth flight direct from London to paradise in the Seychelles.
These new routes are available to book now and we expect them to be in high demand.
