Working with the best luxury brands in the world is all in a day's work for us here at the Inspiring Travel Company and sometimes it's easy to forget just how lucky we are. But every now and then there's something extra special that jogs my memory!
Last week I attended just such an event, which we hosted in partnership with the illustrious Belmond group, whose portfolio of hotels, trains and river cruises are among some of the most iconic on the planet. At this Experience Event, held exclusively for our valued Chairman's Club clients, guests could mingle with General Managers from some of the exceptional Belmond properties such as the Belmond Hotel Cipriani in Venice, as well as staff from the legendary Venice Simplon-Orient Express.
The event, held in Gusto, Alderley Edge, saw guests greeted by staff from the iconic Northern Belle. Decked out in their train uniforms they gave us a little taste of the opulence enjoyed on the famous trains of Belmond!
After the drinks reception we all enjoyed a delicious three course lunch. The quality of the food was a sign of just how high culinary standards are for Belmond!
There was also be the opportunity to win some amazing prizes, including overnight accommodation at Belmond Le Manoir aux Quat Saisons, Oxfordshire, with a choice of Raymond Blanc's dinner menus, sommelier selected wines and full English breakfast. The lucky winners also received two places on a full day course in The Raymond Blanc Cookery School the following day. Wow!
They day's star prize was won by Charles Lawson, who was lucky enough to win two complimentary nights at the stunning Belmond Hotel Caruso on Italy's oh-so-chic Amalfi Coast. This beautiful 11th century palace, recently renovated, is one of the area's most elegant hotels. As experiences go, its location, dramatically perched 1,150ft above sea level, has to be seen to be believed!
Thank you for this amazing event Belmond, it's days like this that make it really is easy to say ‘I’ve got the best job in the world!’.
