Next spring will see a new addition to the luxury hotel scene in Cyprus; Parklane, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, Limassol is the island’s most highly anticipated opening of 2019 and we can’t wait to see it ourselves.

So, what makes this new luxury resort so exciting? We thought we’d talk you through a few highlights to inspire your holiday plans for spring 2019 and beyond.

The Limassol location

Limassol is Cyprus’s largest coastal town and the country’s second biggest urban centre. Here, a cosmopolitan buzz combines with beachside vibes and historic ruins to create a unique destination to charm one and all. The new resort is located just a 10-minute drive from the town’s main focal points, which include a modern marina, quaint Old Harbour, a castle to explore and lots of winding cobbled streets in the town’s older parts. A little further out there’s also an amphitheatre and other ancient Greek ruins to explore.

Even without venturing into town, though, the location of Parklane is pretty impressive. Set in almost 25 acres of landscaped gardens, with winding lanes that snake through it (hence the name) the resort is edged by a 300-metre stretch of well-maintained sandy beach.

The awesome accommodation

Parklane, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa is on the site of an older hotel, and though the accommodation and facilities are housed in the same buildings, the transformation is striking inside and out. With interiors designed by Harrods Interiors, you’ll find refined décor complimented by subtle Cypriot references in whichever room type you chose. And what a choice there is! Superior and Deluxe Guestrooms here are spacious (36-44sqm), offering either inland or sea views from their balconies, and some 52 suites come in a variety of configurations, 24 of which with a private pool facility, culminating in the staggering Diamond Suite – a 246 square metre ultraluxe living space for two, which even has its own infinity swimming pool that merges with the sea beyond.

Great for families, or those travelling with a larger party, the secluded Park Suites here are built to resemble town houses and feature one, two and three bedrooms, as well as their own private pool. Accessible rooms are also available for guests with mobility problems.

The delightful dining options

Guests at Parklane will be spoilt for choice at mealtimes, with five options including an all-day dining restaurant, Lanes, and hip beach bar Vithos for cool drinks and tasty snacks or light meals. Should you wish to sample the local Cyprus cuisine then head to Dafne, where local delicacies are served from the à la carte menu. Additionally, there is the Italian Il Teatro and The Grill Room, specialising in meat dishes such as its dry-aged beef, displayed in beef-ageing refrigerated cabinets.

One truly unique highlight here is Islands for fish & seafood. This open-air dining venue is arranged on small islands floating in a pool, each of which is its own private dining area and is named after a Mediterranean island!

The family-friendly fun!

In addition to the spacious one, two and three bedroom duplex Park Suites, each with their own private pool, families will find a host of options to suit them. Superior and Deluxe rooms are spacious and sleep up to two adults and two children in comfort, while Family Suites are designed with kids in mind and sleep up to three adults and four children. But the rooms are just the start of the family-friendly provision here.

The Park Kidz will wow children of all ages, with 3,000 square metres of indoor and outdoor play space, including a themed castle and swimming pool complete with pirate ship and water slides! Activities and games are available at the complimentary kids’ club for three to 12-year-olds, while smaller ones can be cared for the crèche at additional cost.

The sporty side

Another impressive provision for children and young people is the football academy that will operate here over May and October half-term, as well as on four consecutive weeks in July and August, with input from none other than Rio Ferdinand and Bobby Zamora, as well as Premier League pro coaches. In 2019, a tennis academy will also be offered.

But it’s not just youngsters who’ll have their fitness needs catered to; the Parkfit Pool & Gym boasts state of the art equipment as well as an aerobics and Pilates studio, while three outdoor pools (a main pool, a saltwater pool close to the beach and an adult-only pool), a watersports centre and PADI diving centre mean you can get active in many ways on a holiday here.

If you like your holiday wellness experience to be a little more leisurely, though, the 3,000 square metre Kalloni Spa – complete with two outdoor and three indoor thalassotherapy pools, 14 treatment rooms and three treatment suites – is the place to be.

The adult-only oasis

Looking for a more ‘grown-up’ Cyprus holiday experience? There are plenty of sophisticated enclaves in this luxury resort that are the sole preserve of adults. In fact, right by the adult-only pool you’ll find the Lifestyle Suites; a separate accommodation block reserved for over-18s. This is the perfect choice for a quiet retreat as a couple.
