Here at the Inspiring Travel Company we want to say a huge congratulation to our CEO Jennifer Atkinson who has been named an Inspiring Woman.

Jennifer picked up the top business prize at the Inspiring Women event in Manchester last week from celebrity host and BBC Breakfast presenter Louise Minchin.

We’re very proud to offer a workplace here at ITC which is very inclusive; employing some 90% women across our offices.

Our CEO Jennifer took the helm of the business back in 2009, aged just 34. Since then the company has gone from strength to strength.

She said: “When I was first named CEO of ITC the company was on its last legs and our chairman had been diagnosed with terminal cancer.

“That first year was the toughest; having to make the hugely difficult decision to cut our staff numbers and very sadly losing the founder of our business.

“Five years later and I am thrilled and proud to report that we have just had our best ever year in 40 years. I’d like to think that at ITC we’re living proof that there really is no glass ceiling for ambitious women; with hard work, dedication and passion you really can have the best job in the world.”

The Inspiring Women Awards is an annual, north-west event to recognise the achievements of women who have made a difference. This year’s event was attended by Embarrassing Bodies doctor Dawn Harper, celebrity interior designer Laurence Llewelyn Bowen and The Apprentice’s Neil Clough.

What a way to celebrate our 40 years…WELL DONE JEN!
