From world-class diverse dining venues and glamorous standalone villas utterly surrounded by the ocean, to the luxury yacht that transports you to the island, the water park for younger guests, and Waldorf Astoria’s signature service and glamorous interiors – there are almost as many reasons to visit this new resort as there are islands in the region.
Read on to discover just a taste of what you can expect…
The resort is made up of just 121 private villas. This may sound like quite a large number, but it’s actually relatively few given that the resort is spread across three islands and overwater jetties. Each villa enjoys space, tranquillity and serenity.
You’ll be instantly soothed by striking nature-inspired interiors and soaring vaulted ceilings, but above all else, the standout feature of each villa is the privacy on offer. Whether you opt for a land or overwater villa, you’ll have your own private timber terrace equipped with an al fresco pavilion, hammock and infinity pool, all with uninterrupted ocean views.
What's more, with villas available with one, two and three bedrooms, they are an excellent choice for families. With their own bedroom, each member of the family can delight in having their own space, privacy and deliciously comfortable bed.
The most luxurious accommodation options are the Stella Maris Ocean Villas: two overwater villas that are accessible only by boat, meaning that you will enjoy the utmost privacy in your own private hideaway. Enter by the lower deck where you’ll find your own infinity pool, overwater hammock, and a bedroom with an ocean view before ascending to the upper deck where you’ll find a generously sized indoor-outdoor living area and barbecue area and a hot tub.
There are an impressive 11 different themed restaurants on site, which lends a worldly feel to the resort and means no end of gourmet choices.
One of the most distinctive restaurants is Terra, where guests dine on a menu of some of the world’s most sought-after ingredients in vine-draped bamboo nests set high up in the treetops.
Another restaurant, The Ledge, is a hotly-anticipated barbecue restaurant created by culinary legend Dave Pynt, where guests can expect fresh seafood and meats prepared using the custom-built smoking, roasting and baking oven that put Pynt’s Michelin-starred ‘Burnt Ends’ restaurant on the map.
Among others, guests can also enjoy the culinary delights of Yasmeen, a traditionally-styled Levantine restaurant; Li Long, which serves find Chinese cuisine in a traditional over-water Maldivian hut and Tangled, where guests can dine on fine Asian cuisine including hand-pulled noodles and dim sum.
The Waldorf Astoria Spa, nestled within tranquil tropical gardens, offers a personalised wellness approach, where you will work alongside a wellness expert to design a sequence of treatments designed for physical and emotional recalibration that’s specific to your body and mind.
Broadly speaking, wellness journeys can be categorised into three different themes: Relaxation, Rebalancing and Results. The therapies you will be recommended will be tailor-made for you, and will depend on the outcome you’re looking for.
Those looking for relaxation may be recommended a blissful Starlight Ocean Massage – which promotes relaxation through a 90-minute rhythmic massage and a collagen enriched eye mask – taken in the Spa Pavilion.
Meanwhile, those seeking Rebalancing and Results may be recommended an LED Light Therapy treatment, where gentle light waves energise and heal the skin by promoting collagen and elastin production.
