This year has marked a very special one for us here at the Inspiring Travel Company, with our 40 year anniversary celebrations kicking off 2014 in fine style.

I’m now delighted to announce to you that we can also add to this momentous year the accolade of being a Sunday Times Best Small Company to Work For…again!

We were thrilled to have been awarded 67th place in 2012 and then downright gob smacked with our 18th position in 2013. This year we were elated to have once again been recognised in these prestigious awards with a very commendable 31st place.

Over our forty years at ITC we’ve never forgotten that our most valuable asset is our staff and it is humbling to have that recognised in these awards.

Since 2001, the Sunday Times newspaper has published annual lists of the best companies to work for in the UK. It is a well respected event that ranks Britain's best companies to work for based on a number of criteria, including surveys of staff satisfaction. Categories include:

Leadership: How employees feel about the head of the company and its senior managers

Wellbeing: How staff feel about the stress, pressure and the balance between their work and home duties

Giving something back: How much companies are thought by their staff to put back into society generally and the local community

Personal growth: To what extent staff feel they are stretched and challenged by their job

My manager: How staff feel towards their immediate boss and day-to-day managers

My company: Feelings about the company people work for as opposed to the people they work with

My team: How staff feel about their immediate colleagues

Fair deal: How happy the workforce is with their pay and benefits

Ten members of staff from the Chester office travelled to London for the prestigious Sunday Times Top 100 Companies Awards; picking up a commendable 31st place as a Top 100 Small Company to Work For, as well as winning the Top 100 Small Companies to Work For Wellbeing Award and runner up in the Staff Development category.

For the last three years we have been able to use this event as a means of showcasing just how fantastic we are, and I’m honoured to say that in the past year we have raised thousands of pounds for our chosen charities (Claire House and Macmillan), have gained many new staff (taking our role call too 101) and honoured our history with celebrations looking back over our 40 years.

Well done to the entire ITC team!
