Following One&Only’s launch of its Australian offering earlier this year, we asked our Sports Tour Manager Richard Nurse to describe his experience of this stunning part of the world…
The Whitsunday Islands in Northern Queenstown. What a fabulous place to spend a holiday.
I had the privilege of spending time with some of our clients out in the Whitsundays when the British and Irish Lions rugby team were touring Australia, and what can I say?! Fabulous white beaches. Exciting boat cruises in amongst the islands, as well as perfect snorkelling experiences off the Great Barrier Reef. This is one special place.
There are 74 islands in total and only six are inhabited. Hayman Island is in the heart of the Barrier Reef and, as I mentioned, you’re spoilt for choice as to beaches and snorkelling options. An easy flight from Brisbane will take you to the airport on Hamilton Island and then you have the pleasure of being transferred in luxury aboard one of Hayman Island’s luxury launches. The transfer is about 40 minutes, and what better way to acquaint yourself with the area than to sit back in comfort on board, sipping the ice cold beverage of your choice, while soaking up the scenery as you speed to your holiday destination that is One&Only Hayman Island.
I hope you get to have you’re own One and Only Hayman Island experience; it’s one you’ll never forget. My only problem?! I don’t get to visit there often enough.
Until next time.
