What is your earliest travel memory?

My earliest travel memory would be my parents taking the family to St Martin in the Caribbean. I was in shock that everyone was topless, as we went to the French side of the island and being from New Jersey you just didn’t see that!

What has been your most life/perspective-altering trip? Why?

I’ve had so many life experiences travelling around the world! My most perspective altering trip would probably be Bali when I was 21. How happy everyone was with so little - the culture difference and how far ten dollars can go in these countries it was a real shock.

What is your favourite hotel and why?

My favourite hotel (I have so many) but Villa D'este in Lake Como is so beyond beautiful! The grounds are breath-taking, so many different areas to see – especially by boat. Views over the lake from your bedroom are really special, the hospitality was the best and naturally the food is incredible.

What is your favourite country to visit and why?

My favourite country will always be Italy because every single part of this country is stunning and very different. You will never have a bad meal, the men are stunning and the Italians are the friendliest people. I have to highlight Sardinia in particular as the water is transparent – absolutely stunning!

What has been your memorable meal while travelling?

I have to say one of the most delicious dishes I have had when travelling in Portofino is the pasta Genovese. Sitting on the Belmond terrace enjoying this dish for lunch over-looking the port was very memorable.

Where is the first place you'll go once it's safe to travel again?

The first place I’m going is Sani Resorts in Greece. It is so stunning, the water is just as beautiful as the Maldives without having to fly 12 hours! I plan on shooting my next look book there as the decor is all drift wood beachy vibes, absolutely perfect. The hospitality I received last time I went there was amazing.

Where is the top of your bucket list and why?

Top of my bucket list is the Aman hotel in Utah. I love being surrounded by nature and after designing non-stop collections it looks like an amazing place to zen out.

One travel essential you never travel without?

My 3 travel essentials are: my Elle Cowboy Hat, a white Bikini and Rita Rakus sunblock.

Favourite travel companion?

My favourite travel companion is my daughter Alaia, she really knows how to navigate anywhere even in the middle of a jungle!
