Cheryl’s Mustique wedding inspires luxury travel

Newlywed Cheryl ‘Cole’ recently tied the knot with French restaurateur Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini on one of the Inspiring Travel Company’s favourite Caribbean islands, Mustique.

As reported over the weekend, there has been a surge in interest to the luxury hotel and its exceptional setting since Cheryl announced her nuptials on the island; a destination which is perfect for a romantic break, honeymoon or, like the new Mrs Fernandez-Versini, a wedding.

A favourite with royalty also, Mustique is a small, yet perfectly formed holiday location, renowned for its stunning beaches and authentic Caribbean experiences. Earlier this year the Duchess of Cambridge and her family chose the destination for Prince George’s first holiday abroad and the private villa of Les Jolies Eaux on the island was built for HRH Princess Margaret.

Cotton House itself, where Cheryl reportedly said ‘I do’, is a hotel favoured among many longstanding the Inspiring Travel Company guests for its superb facilities and friendly atmosphere. As the oldest building on the island, it is something of a Mustique institution.

With 17 luxurious rooms, cottages and suites the hotel has a distinctively boutique feel; the two-bedroom Residence being at the top end of scale with its own butler and large private swimming pool. Offering plenty to do, the hotel is just as well suited for families searching for a Caribbean escape as for those wanting a romantic retreat like Cheryl.

We’re currently promoting a 9-night stay for the price of 7 nights with complimentary inter-island flights for travel to Cotton House, and are also offering a wellbeing retreat with plenty of wow factor with our six day retreat this November. Created exclusively by Denise Leicester - founder of award-winning spa brand ila – this retreat looks set to have all the makings of an exceptional experience.

Away from the hotel I’d suggest a visit to Basil’s Bar on Mustique. It’s a wonderful night out for a Friday or Saturday spent drinking and dancing, suspended over the water. I’d recommend heading there at sunset for cocktails…it’s infamous for its good times!
