Unsurprisingly due to the sheer scale and size of them, Abu Dhabi’s hotels have a monopoly over its night-life.

Great if your hotel happens to house one of Abu Dhabi’s top bars, as the promise of sleeping off that extra (and probably, entirely unnecessary) Martini lies only a few steps away.

However, if you aren’t lucky enough to be a lift ride away, don’t despair, here are our top 3 bars to suit any Abu Dhabi holiday.

For a sophisticated vibe:

Ray’s Bar sits majestically on the 62nd floor of the Jumeirah at Etihad Towers (sister resort of Jumeirah at Saadiyat Island Resort) and offers up an evening of refreshing and creative cocktails, alongside Asian inspired nibbles and eclectic music, all enjoyed in an atmosphere of chic old-school glamour. Open from 5 pm until 3 am every day, make sure to book though, as Ray’s Bar is probably Abu Dhabi’s worst kept secret.

Recommended dish: The dough fritters with Tobiko crème fresh, naughty but worth it!

For Boys night:

Just like the ladies, sometimes men need some alone time and the perfect place to do so on your Abu Dhabi holiday is the Belgian Cafe, emulating an English pub-style atmosphere, perfect for a couple of pints while setting the world to rights.
Chunky, homemade chips and a selection of delicious comfort food dishes, add to the Pub atmosphere.
Open from 4 pm until 1 am on weeknights or 2 am on weekends, at the Intercontinental Abu Dhabi.

Recommended time to go: Between 4 pm and 6 pm the Belgian Cafe offers two beers for the price of 1, so head down early to make the most of this deal!

For most exciting cocktails

The Chameleon at the Fairmont Bab Al Bahr is known for its ambitious cocktail blends, but more importantly, for pulling them off!
Vintage champagne, alcohol variations you’ve never heard of and bartenders who really know their stuff await at this ground floor mixologists haven. Open daily from 6 pm until 1 am with live DJ’s from 10 or 11 pm depending on which night you visit.
Luckily for you, the Chameleon shares a kitchen with Marco Pierre White Steakhouse, so a black Angus sirloin with your cocktail is the norm!

Recommended cocktail: The Magic Passionberry, a delicious mix of alcohol and fruits topped with a stack of candyfloss to make your night extra sweet!
