At the Inspiring Travel Company we just love unveiling new boutique resorts, looking at the hottest luxury hotels, and getting excited about latest travel trends across the world. Yet, every now and again, there’s also nothing better than taking a peak at one of our tried and tested, ever-improving and always impressive five-star favourites. Or in this case, two of them; the sister properties of Coral Reef Club and The Sandpiper in Barbados.
First and foremost, both of these incredible Barbados resorts are family owned and run, by the O’Hara and Capaldi Families respectively. And that personal, intimate touch really does translate into every aspect of Coral Reef Club and Sandpiper’s extremely attentive service ethos too, not to mention the opportunity to dine between both hotels' restaurants if staying half or full-board. From your genuinely warm welcome on arrival to first name terms with the staff by the time you leave, it all adds to the enchanting Barbados experience that these hotels offer.
Our Favourite Suite at...
Coral Reef Club
Our favourite accommodation at Coral Reef Club is the Luxury Plantation Suite, a simply flawless one-bedroom abode with a separate lounge, immaculate interior design, garden or sea views and a wonderful outdoor space from which to admire your enviable Barbados sunsets each evening; heavenly.

At The Sandpiper, the award for our favourite accommodation option goes to the Curlew Treetop Suite. The hotel itself bills this high-class accommodation as one of the ‘most outstanding in Barbados’, and in truth few would disagree thanks to its panoramic ocean views, huge private terrace, plunge pool, wet bar, dining area (for at least 6 guests) and perfectly polished décor throughout.

Our Favourite Dining Experience at...
Coral Reef Club
Coral Reef Club is a haven for gastronomes; this is true Barbados fine dining, with ocean vistas, live performances and a memorable al fresco terrace to match the world-class cuisine being served here. In particular, the restaurant at Coral Reef Club specialises in a heady mix of fresh seafood, European and Caribbean-inspired dishes – presented like works of art.
Dining at Coral Reef Club
What could be more Caribbean than a super-cool, laidback beach bar run by one of the island’s best-known bar tenders? Well, at The Sandpiper’s Harold’s Bar you’ll find just that. Whether staying at Coral Reef Club or Sandpiper itself, a handmade cocktail in this irresistible sea-view hotspot is a must.

Our Favourite way to Relax at...
Coral Reef Club
No doubt about it, the spa at Coral Reef Club is one of the ultimate rest and relaxation spots on the entire island of Barbados. Here, just think of tropical plants and natural gardens, waterfalls, hydro-pools, blissful aromas and just about everything you need to disappear into a world of zen.
The pool at Coral Reef Club
Of course, Barbados is renowned for its beautiful beaches and endless sunshine, but the tranquil pool at The Sandpiper is a real gem too; set within the gardens of the hotel just a little way back from the beach, it’s a wonderful place to relax, read and enjoy quiet conversation.
