Travel from the emerald shores of Ireland to the heart of Iceland. The ‘land of fire and ice’ is home to some of the most enchanting natural sights in the world and this cruise invites you to immerse yourself deeply into the culture and beauty of many highlights.

Your voyage will begin in the lively city of Dublin. Enjoy your time here exploring quaint streets, architectural beauty and a magnificent waterfront. With something for every type of traveller, you might find yourself visiting fascinating galleries, a world-class shopping scene, eye-opening cultural and historical sites and, of course, some of the best pubs you could find anywhere in the world!

After a couple of relaxing and informative days at sea, you’ll arrive on the stunning shores of Iceland. Here, you’ll take in some of the most breathtaking sights that Iceland has to offer including the resplendent capital of Reykjavik, along with Iceland’s whale watching capital of Husavik and the best place to see the Northern Lights, Akureyri.

Travelling aboard Azamara Pursuit is the perfect way to see the startling beauty of Iceland while enjoying the best of luxury cruising. The ship contains enough entertainment, relaxation, shopping, and dining to rival even the most exciting ports. Azamara’s White Night party and buffet, held at least once on every cruise, is a particular highlight and is the ideal way to toast your incredible voyage.

Here, we’ve included a three-night stay in Dublin as part of the itinerary. If you’d like to make any bespoke arrangements, allow our Travel Specialists to help.

Itinerary

Fly to Dublin and take a private transfer to The Marker Hotel for a three-night stay including breakfast. The hotel is the perfect base from which to enjoy all the incredible history, culture and entertainment that Dublin has to offer.
There’s a story waiting around every corner in Dublin. You might find yourself spending time in Temple Bar watching the city come alive, taking a ghost tour to discover Dracula’s unnerving connection to Dublin, or taking in the views from the breathtaking Observation Wheel. Of course, no Irish adventure is complete without a trip to the Guinness Storehouse to learn the history of Ireland’s most popular stout.
Check-out of your hotel and take a private transfer to Dublin’s port to embark Azamara Pursuit. The ship will become your luxurious home away from home for the duration of your cruise. Be sure to enjoy all the incredible dining, entertainment, and relaxation options on board.
There’s so much to fill your time on the two days at sea between Ireland and Iceland. Want to really unwind? Why not watch the world go by and sip a complimentary drink poolside, or enter a world of pure bliss with a visit to Sanctum Spa? You’ll also have the chance to attend a lecture to find out more about your next port-of-call.
Alive with history and culture, and simply overflowing with natural beauty, Seydisfjordur is one of the highlights of any trip to Iceland. Here you’ll have a chance to explore iconic architecture, crashing waterfalls, the rugged wilderness and traditional Icelandic villages. Accompanied by expert guides, discover the secrets of the landscape and fuel up on traditional local food.
The whale-watching capital of Iceland, Husavik sits on the eastern shore of Skjálfandi Bay. Here, humpbacks, minke, and blue whales breach the waves and slap the water with their enormous fins. There are also incredible geothermal springs to take a dip in, the striking Hljodaklettar Cliffs to marvel at and the quaint turf houses Grenjaðarstaður to be intrigued by.
Set on the shores of one of Iceland’s most spectacular fjords, with a backdrop of snow-capped mountains, Akureyri is truly breathtaking. The main attraction is the majestic whale population, along with the Botanical Gardens, where over 2,000 species of native and non-native plants flourish, the Myvatn Natural Baths, the Godafoss waterfalls and the puffins of Grimsey Island.
The wonders of nature abound in Skagafjordur, home of the famed Icelandic horse, magnificent gorges, and jaw-dropping glaciers. Bird watching and white-water rafting are highly recommended, as is a visit to a traditional soothing hot spring. Skagafjordur Heritage Museum is a good place to find out more about Iceland’s rural history, while Lýtingsstaðir Horse Farm is best for meeting loveable equine friends.
Remote and magical, tucked away in the West Fjords of Iceland, you’ll find this pleasant fishing port and some of the freshest fish in the world. And, you’ll also find yourself surrounded by towering peaks and sights that will enchant you, including Vigur Island, the Glacier Fjords, Dynjandi Waterfall and the fascinating frozen-in-time village of Hesteyri. Food lovers can even take a hands-on lesson in preparing fresh ceviche!
Carved from fire and ice, Reykjavik is a city of startling contrasts and welcoming locals. Charming wood houses blend with ultra-modern designs, and contemporary galleries mingle with traditional markets where locals love to gather. There’s plenty to do, from visiting farmer’s markets and craft breweries, to learning about the Viking settlers and indulging at the Blue Lagoon spa.
Disembark, reflect on your epic journey, and enjoy the last of your time in beautiful Reykjavik. Then take a private transfer to Reykjavik Airport for your flight back to the UK.
