Traverse the spectacular beauty of the Baltic Coast and discover historic cityscapes and breathtaking tsarist palaces on a luxurious cruise with Hapag-Lloyd. There’s plenty of surprising history and culture to be discovered as you travel in the lap of luxury aboard MS Europa 2.

You’ll begin in spectacular fashion with an extended exploration of Hamburg - the first of many magnificent cities you’ll be treated to on your voyage. Breathtaking panoramas will pass by as you continue down the Kiel Canal to your next port, Copenhagen. Once you’ve had your fill of the Danish capital, you‘ll float on to Bornholm in Denmark, Klaipeda in Lithuania, and Riga in Latvia. You’ll round out your voyage by docking in the Finnish capital, Helsinki, before the splendour of the tsarist era enchants you in St Petersburg.

If you want to experience these incredible ports and excursions in the peak of luxury, then MS Europa 2 is the perfect ship for your journey. Each spacious suite boasts its own veranda, while six stylish bars and a spa offer plenty of places to relax. A haven for foodies, the delicious dining options are wonderfully diverse, with seven restaurants on the ship. From upscale modern cuisine to a rich variety of Asian delights, there’s something for everyone aboard MS Europa 2.

We’ve tailored this cruise to include a pre-cruise stay in Hamburg and a post-cruise stay in St Petersburg. If you’d like your own bespoke arrangements, our Travel Specialists will be more than happy to help you.

Itinerary

Fly from the UK to Hamburg and take a private transfer to your hotel for a two-night pre-cruise hotel stay at the George Hotel Hamburg. One of the most luxurious hotels in the city, it’s the perfect base to explore the wonders of this historic city.
There’s so much to see and do in Hamburg that you’ll be able to fill each of your pre-cruise days with as much or as little as you desire. You could spend time unwinding and enjoying the cosmopolitan shopping and dining scene, or visit the International Maritime Museum, historic town hall, St Michael’s Church or Miniatur Wunderland, the world’s largest model train exhibit.
Check-out of your hotel and take a private transfer to Hamburg’s port to embark MS Europa 2. The ship is magnificent and provides all the personal touches of a yacht, with the serenity of a small resort.
You're in store for some fantastic scenery as you make the passage through the impressive Kiel Canal. One of the world's most important waterways, it links the North Sea at Brunsbüttel to the Baltic Sea at Kiel-Holtenau.
Discover the wonders of the Danish capital. Highlights include the Little Mermaid, Nyhavn, with its brightly coloured gabled houses and delightful restaurants on the canal, the Royal Danish Opera House, and the breathtaking Rosenborg Castle.
Explore the picture-perfect fishing port of Gudhjem and the idyllic sandy beaches on the south coast of Bornholm. Alternatively, enjoy the enchanting view of the sea on a hike along the coast to Helligdommen. The views are simply breathtaking.
Klaipeda is the ideal base for an excursion to the Curonian Spit, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here you can visit the red thatched wooden house that belonged to novelist, Thomas Mann, which has now been converted into a museum to commemorate him and his work.
Explore the fascinating history of Riga and see impressive landmarks like the tower of St Peter's Church, the Small Guild Hall and the Great Guild Hall and the famous Swedish Gate. Or maybe even treat yourself to a refreshing dip in the Baltic Sea from the pretty seaside resort town of Jurmala.
Enjoy unforgettable events and breathtaking shows featuring famous artists and stars on board the Europa 2. Expect to find great comedy, a range of musical styles, and exciting presentations and talks from knowledgeable experts that’ll teach you more about the places you visit.
Helsinki’s Senate Square is magnificent and houses the government buildings, the cathedral, Sibelius Park and the Temppeliaukio Church, which is carved into the granite rock. If you want to learn more about the incredible sights of the city, you can trace the steps of Alvar Aalto, the pioneer of Finnish architecture.
The splendour of the tsarist era awaits you at Catherine Palace, home of the legendary Amber Room. Travel on the world-famous metro and enjoy the sights and sounds of this enthralling city before a leisurely canal trip and a visit to the famed St Isaac's Cathedral.
Disembark the ship and take a private transfer to your hotel for two nights at The Belmond Grand Hotel Europe. Enjoy some more time getting to know the historic city of ‘Peter the Great’ with its many impressive mosaics and sculptures.
Make the most of your final full day in St Petersburg. You’ll take a full guided tour of the fascinating Hermitage Museum, known as the largest art museum in the world. Comprising a number of impressive buildings, including the iconic Winter Palace, there are three million items housed here – your tour will reveal as many highlights as possible!
Say goodbye to the enchanting city of St Petersburg and take a private transfer to the airport for your flight back to the UK.
