Itinerary

Fly to Mauritius and take a private transfer to your hotel for five nights, the One&Only Le Saint Geran. Settle into the island lifestyle and embrace the incredible sights and sounds that are waiting for you.
Enjoy the next few days at leisure from One&Only Le Saint Geran. On the idyllic northwest coast of Mauritius, explore the buzzing city of St Louis, where you can visit the markets, the 16th century citadel and the enchanting Pamplemousse Botanical Gardens. Be sure to sample some of the tantalising local food and pick yourself up some authentic handicrafts as a souvenir.
Bid a fond farewell to One&Only Le Saint Geran and take a private transfer to Port Louis for embarkation. From the moment you step aboard Le Champlain, you’ll be surrounded by the peak of cruising luxury.
Discover a truly one-of-a-kind port at Pointe Des Galets. From here, you can explore the former house of the Reunion Railway and Port Company, the marine cemetery and the lively market. For more adventure, you can opt to take an excursion out to see the misty volcanic crater in Pas de Bellecombe, followed by a creole lunch and a museum visit to find out more about it.
Spending a day at sea as you head to Madagascar, why not make the most of the many services and activities on board? Treat yourself to a moment of relaxation in the spa or keep active in the fitness centre. For a more relaxing approach, head for a dip in the swimming pool. There’s a range of informative talks and entertaining shows to enjoy, a boutique for shopping, and even opportunities to meet the Ponant photographers in their dedicated space.
Arrive in Madagascar and experience a truly unspoilt paradise. This island is home to a lively colony of endemic birds commonly known as red-tailed tropicbird. A visit to the nature reserve gives you the chance to see these beautiful creatures up close. Or, snorkel the natural pools to spot coral and friendly sea turtles below the surface.
A small village in the southwest of Madagascar, Sarodrano is an untouched gem. Populated by ‘nomads of the sea’, watch the local fishermen keep up their ancestral techniques and go about their work in a traditional and authentic way.
Toliara is a cheerful town that holds a variety of exceptional flora that’ll certainly appeal to fans of botany. This luscious paradise is dotted with natural pools and is home to bright coral, schools of fish and sea turtles that can be discovered while snorkelling. Stop by the Antsokay Arboretum botanical gardens or choose an excursion to see the Renala Private Reserve with its thorned forest, lemurs and spider tortoises.
On your second day in Toliara, you might delve deeper into the natural heritage of the area and take a trip to the Mahafaly Ethnological Museum to find out how local people adapted to hostile environments. You can also visit the Oceanography Museum to see a skeleton of the rare and fascinating African coelacanth fish.
As the picturesque beauty of Belo Sur Mer comes into view, it’s impossible not to be enchanted. The peninsula is edged with lush mangroves, sandy beaches and a crystal-clear blue sea. This fishing village is also renowned for its dhows, the traditional sailing boats of Madagascar.
The views offered from the upper deck of the ship are simply stunning. From here you can watch the waves and look out for incredible marine life. Watching the islands come into view stirs a feeling of adventure unlike anything else.
A lively and cosmopolitan town on the west coast of Madagascar, Majunga is renowned for its outstanding natural sites. Here you’ll find the Ankarafantsika National Park as well as the Cirque Rouge - immense red sandstone formations classified as a national heritage.
Nicknamed the ‘island of little earth’, Nosy Tanikely has an unbelievable array of natural diversity, with everything from crystal-clear lagoons to towering hills. If you aren’t too tempted by the beaches, you can take a scenic hike to the old lighthouse at the island’s summit. Then, you’ll head to Nosy Komba, where you can see the amusing black lemurs frolic in the trees!
Off the northwest coast of Madagascar, the protected island of Nosy Hara boasts exceptional biodiversity. With limestone rock formations creating a unique landscape, the surrounding waters host around 280 marine species, making an ideal snorkelling location.
While spending a day on board the ship, a pampering session could be the perfect way to recover from several action-packed days. You can relax in the spa and, with a wide range unique restaurants on board, enjoy a day indulging in gourmet delights.
Alongside incredible dining and sumptuous surroundings, Le Champlain gives you the opportunity to learn more about your destinations. You may be able to enjoy a presentation at the theatre, or simply admire the view from the upper deck’s lounge.
La Digue island takes the enchanting beauty of the Seychelles and condenses it down into one breathtaking island. Expect turquoise waters, lush vegetation, incredible wildlife including giant tortoises, and beaches of fine sand fringed with coconut trees.
Arrive at Mahe early morning to disembark. Bid a fond farewell to Le Champlain as you step onto the sandy shores for your post-cruise stay. A private car transfer will take you to Four Seasons Resort Seychelles, where you’ll stay for the next five nights.
Overlooking a beautifully secluded beach, make the most of your incredible surroundings. Head out to snorkel the crystal waters and see more colourful marine life, or simply kick back on the sand. At the hotel, you can opt to laze by the pool, indulge at the spa or savour a cocktail with stunning views. Beyond, you could hike Morne Seychellois or explore the pint-sized city of Victoria and its botanical gardens.
Spend a final few hours in this picture-perfect paradise before leaving your hotel and taking a private transfer to the airport for your overnight flight back to the UK.
