Escape winter in the UK with a cruise around the Caribbean’s ‘spice islands’, where warm breezes and sugary white sands await. Combined here with a five-night stay at Barbados’ Sandy Lane, this cruise makes the ultimate tropical getaway.

On board the luxurious Seabourn Odyssey, you’ll sail through the southern Windward Islands. Starting with Barbados, you’ll make stops at St Lucia, Dominica, Guadeloupe, St Kitts & Nevis, Martinique and Grenada, covering off some of the Caribbean’s most beautiful locations in one swoop.

During your cruise, you’ll have a fantastic selection of excursions to choose from. If you love exploring the ocean, there’re some unmissable diving and snorkelling spots. For culture lovers, you’ll have the chance to visit stately plantation houses and learn about their history. Active types will be overwhelmed with chances to hike the rainforests, waterfalls or even go ziplining. And foodies will be overjoyed, too – you can stop to taste authentic Caribbean rum and other tropical delights at every turn!

Your adventure will also feature the finest accommodation. Starting with a pre-cruise stay at the unparalleled Sandy Lane, your cruise ship, Seabourn Odyssey, boasts a choice of plush suites, along with a fitness centre and salon. When it comes to dining, options include The Grill by Thomas Keller, along with the open seat The Restaurant and al fresco The Patio.

Fly from the UK to Grantley Adams International Airport in Barbados. Take a private car transfer to your hotel for the next five nights; the iconic Sandy Lane. Check-in and prepare to relax in paradise.
Staying at  Sandy Lane
Enjoy the next few days entirely at leisure from the prestigious Sandy Lane hotel. You could play a round of golf at one of the three courses, unwind with a treatment at the spa or simply take it easy on the famed platinum sands along the beach. With a prime location on the West Coast, there’s plenty to explore beyond the resort, too.
Staying at  Sandy Lane
Check out of Sandy Lane and take a private car transfer to the port at Bridgetown. Here, you’ll embark the luxurious Seabourn Odyssey, ready for your seven-day Caribbean cruise. Settle into your suite, explore the rest of the ship and enjoy dinner before departing later that night.
Your first new port of call is peaceful Rodney Bay in St Lucia. This lush tropical island offers numerous adventures – snorkel the colourful waters, take a Segway tour through the most fascinating sites, taste rum at a local distillery, learn steel pan drums, explore the magnificent Pitons or even zipline the rainforest canopy!
Known as ‘nature island’, Dominica is a beauty to behold. Arriving in the morning, you’ll have all day to roam, discovering the colourful birdlife, cascading rivers, hot springs and volcanic crater lakes. Famed for its citrus fruits and rum, take a tasting tour. Or, head out whale watching, snorkelling or river tubing.
Arriving in the heart of Guadalupe, there’s plenty to explore from Point-A-Pitre. Visit the colonial era mansion of Nobel Laureate, Alexis Leger, or Musee ACTe, where you can learn more about the history of slavery. There’s also beautiful gardens and beaches, plus stunning mangrove forests to kayak and the protected marine reserve, Pigeon Island.
If you’d like a day relaxing on the sand, Carambola boasts some of the Caribbean’s most luxurious beach clubs. If you’d rather do more exploring, the UNESCO-listed Brimstone Hill Forest has plenty to offer, though you could also board the scenic St Kitts Railway, swim with dolphins or kayak along the bays.
Today, the fascinating island of Martinique awaits! Home to Napoleon Bonaparte’s second wife, you can find out about the life of Josephine Beauharnais and the stately plantation house she was born into. You can also visit a reproduction of a slave village and creole gardens to connect with the history of the people who lived here.
The final stop on your cruise won’t disappoint. Arriving at St Georges in Grenada, admire the picturesque views of pastel houses, rainforest scenery and beautiful beaches. Famed for spice production, you can head out to the production estates and plantations, stopping to explore the stunning national park, Grand Etang Lake and Fort Frederick.
Arrive back in Bridgetown in the morning and disembark Seabourn Odyssey. Take a private car transfer to the airport for your flight back to the UK.
