Stay in the lap of luxury while immersed in the middle of the wilderness at Four Seasons Serengeti, a five-star safari lodge which blends decadent facilities with impeccable service and unforgettable wildlife experiences.
Studded right in the centre of the Serengeti National Park’s 15,000sq km expanse, this Four Seasons group hotel affords breathtaking panoramas of the wild savannah at every opportunity, an inspiring sight to accompany you through each moment of the day.
And while Four Seasons Serengeti is, without doubt, a first-class resort, with plenty of facilities to prove it, this particular hideaway isn’t as ‘Four Seasons’ as you would think. Rather than polished, glossy décor, you’ll find a rustic-chic design awash with thatch, dark wood and patterned fabrics, feeling suitably at home in this bucolic Tanzanian setting.
While it really is a luxurious cocoon of a lodge, the Four Seasons Serengeti encourages you to explore beyond, providing endless opportunities to engage with the natural surroundings alongside a team of park rangers, naturalists and Maasai tribesmen who take you to the most beautiful corners of the national park. Wildlife sightings are plentiful, with creatures big and small easy to spot on game drives and nature walks, or simply from the comfort of the hotel; there’s even a watering hole right next door, which attracts all sorts of fascinating animals. The Serengeti is, in fact, a fantastic place to witness the Great Migration, so if it’s on your bucket list – you need to look no further!
Between forays into the savannah, you can unwind back at the Four Seasons in one of many ways. You might be tempted by the open-air spa, specialising in locally-inspired rituals, or simply sitting with a drink on the central terrace, perhaps your private sundeck while glimpsing animals just a stone’s throw away. Alternatively, indulge yourself in a delectable meal at one of three superb restaurants. There’s also a games room for some light entertainment, a kids club to engage younger visitors with the local culture and environment, plus a Discovery Centre that’s open to all ages with its informative displays, documentaries and interactive map.
All of this is sealed with signature Four Seasons hospitality, making for an indulgent but still authentic way to experience the Serengeti, on an unforgettable safari adventure.

The Four Seasons manages to expertly merge its sophisticated design standards with local flavour, to create wonderfully luxurious abodes in the middle of the wilderness that are full of welcome surprises. Think king-size beds topped with plush mattresses and draped in mosquito nets from four posters, positioned to look out over the endless Serengeti plains; a mesmerising sight to wake up to each morning. They also flaunt furnished terraces to encourage moments spent al fresco, with many rooms overlooking the watering hole below. More generous mod-cons come in the form of luxe furnishings, spacious en suites (complete with separate bathtubs and walk-in showers), minibars, bathrobes, air-conditioning, blackout blinds, tea and coffee making facilities, flat-screen TVs, and flashlights – for wildlife-watching after dark. Go up a few categories from the standard rooms and you’ll also be treated to private pools, butler service, and more; heavenly indeed.
Kula’s is where to tuck into a generous breakfast buffet, incorporating a mix of local and global dishes, to set you up for a day of discovery and adventure. Evening meals are also served buffet-style, featuring cookery stations too so you can watch the chefs at work.
Boma Grill provides both an exciting cultural experience and delicious meals at the same time. The dining space is centred around an outdoor firepit with wicker tables positioned to face the middle, where Maasai tribes showcase their skills during performances while you savour delicacies such as lamb bobotie, banana and beef soup plus tantalising desserts like amarula ice cream or baobab chocolate fudge.
Maji Bar and Terrace
Maji is at the heart of the action, comprising an expansive terrace and sundeck scattered with sofas, tables and chairs set right above the pool area so you’re able to easily drift between the two. Dazzling views of the Serengeti and neighbouring watering hole can be admired while you nurse a refreshing drink from the bar or nibble on a zingy salad, irresistible pizza or something else from the varied lunch menu. Expect to spend long, lazy afternoons here taking it all in, watching nearby animals as they come and go.
At the hotel you’ll find a games room, kids club, and Discovery Centre which exhibits interesting artefacts as well as hosting lectures and informative video screenings too. Meanwhile, the swimming pool at Four Seasons Serengeti is ideal for cooling off in the middle of the day, watching elephants just beyond as you relish a satisfying dip. Wellness is actually a big draw here, with the spa going above and beyond the usual treatments you would expect, instead encompassing elements of traditional local practices. The Kifalme Ritual, for example, utilises properties from the Baobab Tree for a rejuvenating therapy that incorporates a facial, foot treatment, massage and spinal compresses. Keen yogis can also get their fix with either group or private sessions, pranayama, meditation, and an unforgettable yoga experience taking place on a nearby hilltop at sunset. If fast-paced classes are more your thing however, the fitness centre has you covered, with personal training and Pilates also available.
Activities and Entertainment
When it comes to wildlife safaris in the Serengeti, you can visit at a different time each year and be treated to something new and exciting with every season – whether rainy or dry. Embark on half or full-day game drives, witness the Great Wildebeest Migration, soar over the Serengeti on a hot air balloon (followed by champagne breakfast), or visit the Ngorongoro Crater – a volcanic caldera that’s an impressive sight in itself though also attracts all manner of wildlife, including the endangered Black Rhino. You can also discover cave paintings at Gong Rock, Maasai villages or the Olduvai Gorge archaeological site, request the company of a professional photographer, or wander out on a walk with a naturalist guide who’ll escort you through the stunning national park on foot. Adventures come thick and fast here, with the Four Seasons perfectly placed to ensure you get the most out of your Tanzanian safari.
