One of Bali’s best-kept secrets, Alila Manggis sits beachside on Bali’s east coast at the foot of the majestic Mount Agung – Bali’s most sacred mountain.
Set amid a verdant coconut grove, this boutique resort offers 53 rooms and two suites, each designed to maximise the views across the swimming pool or out to sea. The design is traditional Balinese and all rooms are housed in old-style pavilions complete with thatched roofs and luxury amenities.
The dining scene is exquisite with the restaurant Seasalt set in a traditional Balinese pavilion offering views across the Indian Ocean – it serves a range of contemporary dishes including Indonesian and Balinese favourites. The Lobby Lounge and Pool Side bar are open daily serving light refreshments and cocktails.
Deluxe Rooms are also 34 square metres in size and are situated on the upper floor of the blocks. They feature a balcony with daybed that offers views across the coconut grove and the swimming pool towards the sea.
The 114 square metre Seaside Suites are located at the upper level corners of the accommodation blocks and offer excellent views of the ocean from the large balcony (which is also perfect for outdoor dining or sunbathing). They also feature a living area and large entry hall which may be used as a dining area.
All accommodation is housed in traditional two-storey thatched Balinese pavilions. Superior Rooms are 34 square metres in size and are located on the ground floor of each block with a private terrace offering views across the gardens and swimming pool.
