Rosewood Yangon

The Rosewood Yangon is a sophisticated city bolthole that recalls a bygone era, thanks to painstakingly preserved features that date back nearly 100 years sitting shoulder-to-shoulder with some of Yangon’s colonial architectural gems.

This impressive building shelters more than 200 opulent guestrooms, all maintaining the timeless elegance of its former glory but infused with contemporary delights, such as big, comfy beds and luxurious bathrooms. The majority come with private balconies or terraces too, for views of the Yangon River or interior courtyard, while the suites and residences are particularly dreamy with their living areas and extra bedrooms.

Guests can admire the city skyline and Yangon River from the Rosewood’s rooftop, whether in their sleek bar or by the infinity pool. Further pampering can then be had in the spa, and there’s a fantastic mix of eateries to keep bellies happy too: from Chinese fare to relaxed dining, afternoon tea or cigar sessions. What’s more, this is all before even mentioning the attractions that lie just a stone’s throw away, such as Yangon’s historic temples, pagodas and colonial architecture; restaurants, street markets and nightlife; just some of the reasons to visit this great Burmese city and stay at the Rosewood Yangon.

Restaurants and Bars

There’s an eatery for all occasions at the Rosewood Yangon, whether you feel like settling down for afternoon tea in an elegant lounge and patisserie, a casual meal at the bistro, or contemporary Cantonese cuisine at the upscale restaurant. There are then two drinking dens to choose from: a handsome cigar lounge or rooftop bar, the latter starring glittering panoramas of Yangon and the river.

Activities and Entertainment

Stroll out of the hotel and down the Strand, admiring the colonial architecture that is so prevalent in Yangon’s old town. The river is close by, so explore the city from the water on a cruise to get a new perspective of it all; and don’t miss the Bogyoke Aung San Market (formerly Scott Market), where a mind-boggling 2,000 stalls and shops sell all manner of crafts, clothing, jewellery, and more. Totally unmissable is the Shwedagon Pagoda, a scintillating site that’s festooned with 27 tons of gold leaf as well as diamonds and other jewels, though there’s also the Sule Pagoda and Chauk-htat-gyi Temple which are well worth a visit.

Rosewood Yangon is a well-equipped resort indeed, what with its array of health and wellness facilities that include the heavenly Sense Spa where pampering is always the order of the day. There’s also a gym and rooftop infinity pool, the perfect place to escape to in the heat of the day for a refreshing dip.
