The Ritz-Carlton Tokyo

Look out over the silvery cityscape of Tokyo from the city’s tallest skyscraper, housing the glamorous Ritz-Carlton Hotel with its indoor lap pool, sleek spa, Michelin-starred restaurant and so much more besides.

Without a doubt, this is one of the most exquisite luxury hotels in Tokyo, exuding that quintessential Ritz-Carlton elegance through marble flooring, sumptuous textiles, tall ceilings and plush sofas, while always feeling stylishly contemporary in its ambience. The star of the show, however, is the view: a combination of wraparound windows and a supremely elevated spot afford some of the best vistas of Tokyo, with its Sky Tower, Imperial Palace Gardens and – on a clear day – Mount Fuji in the distance, that never fail to enthral.

Beyond its attractive aesthetic, the Ritz-Carlton Tokyo is a hotel with its guests’ satisfaction firmly in mind. Therefore, services throughout are immaculate, from the check-in to concierge, wait staff to spa therapists, ensuring that your Tokyo visit is seamless and maximised to the full. Then, accommodation is as luxurious as you’d expect, with large windows for city-gazing moments and mod-cons aplenty.

Moving through to the shared spaces, there’s a Club Lounge that’s exclusive to certain room categories only, on top of a clutch of upscale bars and restaurants – including the Michelin-starred Azure 45. Mouth-watering cuisine, expertly crafted cocktails, and stunning city views: what more could you wish for?

Rounding it all off in Ritz-Carlton fashion is the wellness centre, a place that may just get in the way of all your plans to tour Tokyo! Clad in a huge swimming pool and hot tub – both with views over the city – plus a steam room, sauna and gym, you’ll certainly be tempted to while away a few hours here each day.

Activities and Entertainment

The Ritz-Carlton has curated a fantastic menu of personal experiences in Tokyo, from sake and whisky tasting with expert sommeliers to flower-arranging (ikebana) classes, and learning about the history of it all. It doesn’t stop there though: you can also do karate, wadaiko (Japanese drumming), manga or running, following one of the hotel’s Tokyo routes. Meanwhile, children are taken care of just as much as adults, with the Ritz-Kids program providing distraction and entertainment for little ones. They can even have a mini-planetarium installed in the bedroom, with LED lanterns casting constellations on the ceiling (in the Carlton Suite), or try origami and animal balloon-making lessons in-house.

Facilities

The hotel’s wellness centre is one of its greatest assets, thanks to a huge indoor lap pool, Jacuzzi, sauna, steam room, gym and beauty salon. Indulge in an ESPA spa therapy, using rose quartz or Bakuhan stones to harness the power of nature, or simply relish a relaxing swim in the pool with twinkling skyline views – a real treat for any city centre hotel in Tokyo.
