Cooinda Lodge Kakadu

This simple 48-room resort is set in the heart of Kakadu National Park, making it the perfect gateway to discover the natural wonders of this UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The resort is set under a canopy of trees, on the edge of Yellow Water Billabong and is the departure point for cruises through Kakadu’s remarkable wetlands where you will witness dramatic scenery and an abundance of wildlife including crocodiles, the distinctive Jabiru with its white plumage, stork-like legs and long black beak.

Cooinda Lodge Kakadu features two attractive swimming pools and casual dining at Barra Bistro, where you can enjoy hearty meals, salads or try the Taste of Kakadu Sharing Platter with menu items including smoked and marinated crocodile, barramundi, chargrilled buffalo sausages and kangaroo fillet.

Kakadu is best explored by water, from the air or on a four-wheel drive adventure, all of which are possible from Cooinda Lodge Kakadu. A good place to start is at Warradjan Aboriginal Cultural Centre located less than a mile from the lodge. The centre illustrates remarkable stories of the traditional Aboriginal owners of Kakadu who have lived here for thousands of years.
