The InterContinental Bora Bora is a fabulous resort where you can indulge in thalassotherapy at the spa, sleep above the sea in an overwater villa and enjoy traditional local handicrafts and activities too.
For private pool overwater casitas decked out with all kinds of luxuries; privacy, deserted sandy shores and cobalt seas alike; plus the seclusion of a protected bay reachable only by boat; consider the InterContinental Bora Bora Resort & Thalasso Spa for your exclusive French Polynesian holiday.
Location, wellness and style collide here, as massage and healing treatments take place in cabins above the water, outdoor mineral pools are surrounded by foliage, and beachfront meals enjoy magnificent sunset views.
The suites are also sublime, modern and locally inspired in one, all offering direct ocean access and some coming with a luxe private plunge pool which is always hard to beat.
The InterContinental Bora Bora is actually in many ways a pioneering resort: it was the first hotel to launch Sea Water Air Conditioning (SWAC), using deep seawater to keep the property cool, and it was also the first resort in French Polynesia to offer a thalassotherapy spa. You can unwind here with a soothing massage while spying tropical fish below, or wallow in nutrient-rich waters in the spa’s thermal pools.
On top of all this, at InterContinental Bora Bora there is ‘room service with a difference’, courtesy of their canoe breakfast service, bringing delectable dishes direct to your overwater villa, or why not request a romantic private meal on the beach, complete with a bottle of fine champagne, no less.

Pool Overwater Villa
Sands Restaurant and Bar
A relaxed restaurant and bar situated on the beach overlooking the lagoon and Mount Otemanu, whipping up global fare for lunch and dinner. Kick back with a cocktail, relish a candlelit dinner, and be sure to come for the weekly BBQ feast.
Reef is a smart place to dine, all white tablecloths and French flavours paired with views of the lagoon. Every week, a Polynesian bonanza takes place here, with plenty of dance, music and buffet delights.
Le Corail Restaurant
Le Corail is an elegant affair indeed, complete with one of the most impressive wine cellars in French Polynesia and a tasting menu with wine pairings. It makes for a wonderfully romantic dinner here in Bora Bora, best followed by aperitifs out on the terrace overlooking an illuminated lagoon.
Make for Bubbles Bar in the evening for contemporary cocktails, chilled beers and much more; happy hour begins at 5pm!
South Beach Bar
Open during the daytime for light bites, fruit juices and cocktails beneath the shade of coconut palms, South Beach Bar hits all the high notes.
Activities and Entertainment
There’s so much to keep you entertained at InterContinental Bora Bora, whether you’re one for watersports (kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding, snorkelling and diving); cultural activities (French Polynesian crafts and cookery); or relaxation (thalassotherapy spa sessions). You can embark on day trips through the jungle, to Mount Otemanu or local shops and villages, or stay put at the resort to enjoy some tennis, fitness classes and time spent at the InterContinental’s Lagoonarium, where 200 different marine species are protected.
The Lagoonarium at InterContinental Bora Bora shelters a coral nursery and habitat for 200 species, tended to by marine biologists; it’s a fascinating place to explore and learn about the conservation efforts being made. Also at the hotel is a fitness centre and the fantastic thalassotherapy spa, Deep Ocean – think glass-bottomed treatment rooms, steam baths, outdoor spas, traditional local rituals and treatments using mineral-rich nutrients.
