Created by Virgin Limited Edition, Sir Richard Branson’s second island home boasts three villas and a setting of exceptional beauty; think soft white sands, clear turquoise waters, swaying palms, rocky outcrops and thrilling hiking trails.
Just one mile from Necker, Moskito Island is set in the North Sound, just offshore from Anguilla Point, Virgin Gorda. It gains its moniker from the Moskito Indian tribe and was once a popular playground for scuba divers and sailors.
The climate nearly year-round is beach-perfect, and thanks to the watersports centre there are numerous ways to make the most of the world-class waters that lap the island’s shores.
Accommodation is across three villas, with each home to its own ‘Guest Houses’; ensuring every member of a (up to) 22-member group has their own privacy and personal space. Included with each stay is a private chef and all meals, drinks and alcohol, return boat transfers from the airport, all facilities – such as three infinity pools and the watersports centre – and of course the signature Virgin Limited Edition service from a team of staff on hand 24/7.
Thanks to the way the villas and bedrooms have been so thoughtfully set out, Moskito Island is a first-class option for multi-generational holidays, with special arrangements for younger visitors including tailored menus and activities, as well as connecting nurseries available in two of the suites.
A truly exceptional private island holiday setting in the British Virgin Islands.
Accommodating 22 guests across 11 bedrooms, the Branson Estate is made up of: Headland House, Beach Villa and Mangrove Villa. Each stay is all-inclusive, with a private chef, all drinks and alcohol, transfers, access to all facilities, Wifi and BVI accommodation tax.
With all food and drink – including alcohol – inclusive in each stay on Moskito Island, guests can truly indulge! Bespoke menus are created to your preferences, with informal dining by the beach, or formal fare to celebrate in one of the dining rooms with a view. There’s a pizza oven, barbecues, themed meals or even dinner under the stars – the choice is yours.
Activities and Entertainment
Of course many travel to Moskito Island to simply chill on the beach or by the pool in complete privacy from the outside world. However, should you choose to be more active, there are two tennis courts on the island, with grandstand steps for spectators which can double as a seating area for a movie night. There’s a gym and wellness facility, and spa treatments can be organised at your request.
Down at the beach you’ll find the exceptional Watersports Pavilion, with plenty to entice you under and onto the water, including stand-up paddleboarding and snorkelling. You could head inland too, exploring the island’s 125 acres along one of the many hiking trails… just be sure to pack your camera for plenty of photo opportunities.
Finally, if your group likes to get a bit competitive, the island team can arrange some fun team sports, such as beach cricket and croquet on the lawn, or even treasure hunts or a Beach Olympics; wonderful if you have children staying with you.
