For cultural charm and a snapshot of old-world Montenegro, your best bet is to take a walk around town or head to nearby Kotor, a UNESCO-listed gem that dates back to the 12th century. Then, return to The Chedi Luštica Bay for a slice of modern-day living, as this polished seafront hotel is as contemporary as it gets in Montenegro, perfectly fitting within its glam marina setting too.
The Chedi is unashamedly sleek; none of the interior design elements are too edgy, though there’s enough Art Deco touches, psychedelic patterns and fun pieces of furniture to break up otherwise immaculate spaces of bright white walls, neon lights and neutral tones throughout the property. This is true both in the guestrooms, which see jazzy drapes and cushion covers break up the cream, lightwood, marble and glass, as well as the communal areas, spa and restaurants. In each, not a candle, lampshade or pot plant is out of place, and it all adds up to a breezy, sophisticated ambience that’s at home here in one of Montenegro’s lovingly redeveloped coastal retreats.
An outdoor pool lined with sun loungers is an ideal place to catch some rays, though The Chedi Luštica Bay also has its own private beach and adjoining bar/restaurant, The Rok, so long seafood lunches overlooking the Adriatic are often the order of the day. The hotel’s spa is also first-class, with an indoor swimming pool and relaxation areas, sauna and steam room plus a gym, personal trainers and plenty of massage therapies to choose from. Two distinct restaurants – one buffet-style and one more formal offering – do their job extremely well and enjoy lively atmospheres which, when added to a prime position on the marina and easy access to Durmitor National Park, a nearby golf club and watersports off the coast, helps put The Chedi Luštica Bay among Montenegro’s top beachside resorts.

Accommodation Options
Guestrooms and suites at The Chedi Luštica Bay are decidedly modern, where no risks are taken on their interior design and the result is a great use of space, plenty of amenities and a clean finish to it all. All come with French windows that lead out onto a furnished balcony and views of the mountains or Adriatic Sea, while in-room extras include a coffee machine; Wi-Fi; minibar; flat-screen TVs and a media hub; designer toiletries; underfloor heating; a king-size bed and either a walk-in rain shower, deep soak bathtub or both. Larger rooms, from the Junior Suite level onwards, then come with a kitchenette too.

Restaurants

The Restaurant at Chedi Luštica Bay ensures a tasty bite for just about every palate, thanks to a delicious breakfast spread in the morning and buffet-style options later in the day. There’s a good mix of local and more Mediterranean-inspired dishes, seafood and salads served here, and the laidback atmosphere, airy feel and outdoor patio overlooking the marina all make it a great choice for something less formal, particularly if visiting with children.

More upmarket than The Restaurant in its décor and design, though also hosting live DJs at night and a swanky cocktail bar too, The Spot is an ideally placed haunt to either sit outside and watch the marina over lunch, or come back to at night for dinner and a livelier atmosphere. And, in addition to the fresh seafood and prime cuts from the grill, salads and gourmet burgers, there’s also a decidedly Asian twist to much of the menu here which is quite unusual locally.
- Lunch
- Dinner

An informal space full of sofas and cosy armchairs, the Lobby Bar at Chedi Luštica Bay is a good place to take a moment out and enjoy a cup of tea, coffee, slice of cake or perhaps a well-earned afternoon glass of wine.

Set on The Chedi’s own private beach and with a delightful al fresco dining terrace overlooking the Adriatic, this is a priceless place to feast on fresh seafood and salads, or treat yourself to a cocktail without moving far from your sunbed. The Rok is actually open until 11pm most nights, so a few relaxing drinks by the water are always an option after dinner.

Activities and Entertainment
Hike, sail, play golf, take a mountain bike ride through the Luštica Peninsula, sea kayak off the scenic Bay of Trašteor or simply visit the nearby marina – it’s all available at The Chedi Luštica Bay, as are fun cookery classes with Chedi’s head chef, for something a little different. Slightly further afield the Durmitor National Park and UNESCO-listed town of Kotor are well worth a visit, though quaint Luštica Bay itself is a great spot for lazy days and long lunches if wanting to stay closer to home.
Facilities
A major draw of staying at The Chedi Luštica Bay is having access to its private beach and sun loungers, a real gift on this popular stretch of coastline. Though within the hotel itself you’ll also find a splendid spa offering a long list of therapies fused with organic seaweed-based products, an indoor swimming pool, steam room, sauna and gym with personal trainers available. There’s an outdoor pool and patio too, plus valet parking, a small children’s playground and babysitting on request, plus concierge and dry-cleaning services if you need it.
