You’ll discover the picturesque Greek island of Skiathos in the northwest Aegean Sea, barely seven miles by four miles in size.
The main attraction which has enticed visitors for many years is the island’s stunning coastline; with more than 60 beaches scattered along its shores. Due to this seaside way of life, a boat trip makes for an essential element of any stay on Skiathos. Surrounding the beaches are acres of pine forests which meet the sands and clear seas – Koukounariés being one of the most famous. Watersports are also in good supply, with scuba diving available in many places.
The main Skiathos town is quaint and vibrant with harbour-view restaurants aplenty and a buzzing nightlife. Designer shops and boutiques make for good shopping and from the harbour you can take boat trips to neighbouring islands or mainland Greece.
Those looking for a true taste of the island should check out its nature trails and walking routes which will take you on a journey through some of Skiathos’s most unspoilt areas, scattered with lookouts of excellent views.
