The restoration and construction of the new wing used building methods that exceeded all environmental standards. The hotel stays true to its natural surroundings and its sustainable practices include water-saving showers, fair-trade organic linens, salvaged driftwood and lava and organic soaps from Soley Organics included with bathroom amenities. 
 
The 45 spacious standard and deluxe rooms are modern and offer views across lava fields and towards Thingvellir National Park or Nesjavellir Geothermal Power Plant. Soak in the outdoor spa pool or warm up at the sauna at the Ion Lava Spa, before indulging in one of the luxe body treatments which incorporate Icelandic nature.
