Overview

Perched 1,000 ft above the sea, among the cobbled streets and exotic terraced gardens of medieval Ravello and overlooking the breathtaking Amalfi Coast, the elegant Palazzo Avino, formerly known as Palazzo Sasso, is an exclusive invitation into an elegant and romantic world where luxury is a byword.

Originally a 12th century private villa of an Italian noble family, the property opened as a hotel in 1997. The resort now boasts an array of luxury facilities, including a 20-metre heated pool, and a spa and beauty centre. Revel in the exclusive use of the hotel's beach club, sip cocktails on one of the panoramic terraces, relax in one of the rooftop Jacuzzis or enjoy the one Michelin-starred restaurant.

All rooms and suites in this 21st century Italian villa are decorated with hand-made Vietri tiles, antique carpets and furniture from the 18th and 19th centuries, with all the modern conveniences you would expect. In fact, there are only 32 rooms and 11 suites in total, so you can rest assured you’ll be residing in complete exclusivity.

Activities & Entertainment

Dining at Palazzo Avino is a very special affair. The one Michelin-starred restaurant Rossellinis prides itself on serving authentic yet creative Italian cuisine accompanied by handpicked regional wines. The candlelight and passionate team make for a really wonderful evening. For a casual yet delicious meal, opt for the Terrazza Belvedere, where you’ll find an appetising array of light pasta dishes, as well as the Lobster & Martini Bar. This latest offering boasts 65 different Martinis uniquely crafted by the hotel’s resident Martini mixologist, not to mention spectacular sunsets and unbelievable views of the Mediterranean. Finally, sample a speciality cocktail at the Caffé dell'Arte, with its laid-back atmosphere and live pianist.

The spa facilities at the resort are as exceptional as the dining options. After taking advantage of the hydro pool, sauna, Turkish steam bath, massage and treatment cabins, and the Carita beauty products, you’ll soon be feeling revived. The fantastic views of the Mediterranean Sea from the gym will certainly inspire you to run that little bit faster, while the 20-metre outdoor heated swimming pool in the gardens also enjoys unforgettable views of the sea and mountains. With its two whirlpools, the rooftop solarium is the perfect spot to watch the sun go down with a glass of Prosecco. Guests are also treated to the hotel’s Clubhouse by the Sea, which is located just a 15 minute drive from Ravello in the small town of Marmorata.
