The oldest and perhaps one of the grandest hotels in London, Brown’s Hotel has been hosting guests since its opening in 1837.
Its reputation for first-class service and unsurpassable luxury has earned a succession of veritable guests, the likes of which include Oscar Wilde, Theodore Roosevelt, Winston Churchill and George II.
Made up of 11 historic Georgian townhouses, the hotel comprises three renowned dining venues and a spa as well as 115 rooms and suites.
Officially part of the Rocco Forte Hotel, which is renowned for its dedication to retaining the individual character of each property, the interior here has been expertly designed with a timeless yet creative elegance that holds true to the building’s heritage. Expect original plasterwork ceilings, stained glass windows and oak wall panels, together with modern touches such as bright hand-painted wallpaper as envisaged by Olga Polizzi.
Located in the heart of Mayfair, close to Hyde Park, Brown’s hotel is well-placed to enjoy supreme access to exclusive fine-dining restaurants, such as Nobu, and boutique department stores such as Fortnum & Mason during your lavish break in England. On offer exclusively for hotel guests is a unique selection of tours that have been designed to showcase the best of the city. Alongside expert guides, you can see a different side of London as you discover Hyde Park by horseback and see the sights on a private tour in a classic Mini Cooper. Alternatively, opt for a culinary adventure guided by three-Michelin-starred chef Heinz Beck.
Despite its central location, Brown’s can also provide a calm city retreat, as it is set down a slower side street of Piccadilly. Within the hotel, spend leisurely evenings and afternoons dining on world-class seasonal Italian cuisine at Beck at Brown’s, sampling exclusive cocktails designed by world-renowned drinks maestro Salvatore Calabrese at The Donovan Bar or banqueting on fine finger-food at the award-winning Brown’s Afternoon Tea.
Families are especially welcome at Brown’s. In addition to in-room family amenities, many of the rooms available can be interconnected to form multiple bedroom suites. Brown’s is also delighted to offer bespoke children’s activities such as cooking lessons and scavenger hunts as well as babysitting services, perfect for the adults to enjoy some well-earned relaxation at the underground wellness spa.
