Siwash Lake Wilderness Resort

Siwash Lake Wilderness Resort

The luxury eco-conscious Siwash Lake Ranch is a boutique wilderness retreat that sits in the Cariboo Mountains, between the Coastal and Rocky Mountain ranges, surrounded by 80,000 acres of riding territory.

Suitable for those that are looking for a complete retreat from everyday life, it offers an exclusive and very private ranch experience for couples and families.

It has been recognised as a signature experience in Canada.

Stays at Siwash Lake are inclusive of all meals (snacks, picnics, breakfast, lunch and a three-course dinner), soft beverages, alcohol including wine, beer and spirits, guided and self-guided activities, Free-Range Kids program for ages 4+ in the summer (please request at time of booking) and one massage per adult.

The property is so private that it cannot even be located on Google Maps!

It is situated 20 miles east of 70 Mile House, access is by car from Kamloops (two hours) or is a pleasant 5-hour drive from Vancouver and a popular stopover on any Canada fly-drive. A unique way of accessing the ranch is by floatplane from Vancouver. This is quintessential cowboy country with rolling terrain, fir and pine woods and secluded back-country lakes. Run by a family as well as 16 members of staff, the ranch can accommodate 24 at maximum capacity.

Accommodations range from Ranch House Suites with original wooden beams, some with two bedrooms and offering lake views, the exclusive Cariboo Suite, located a short walk from the main ranch house and spanning the entire loft of a hand-hewn log barn and featuring a separate lounge and bedroom. For those seeking a true cowboy experience without compromising on luxury, Siwash Lake Ranch offers spacious luxury safari tents set 200 feet apart from each other, the most private accommodation. Comprising two canvas clad rooms with a master bedroom and lounge, tie back the canvas doorways for sweeping views of the forest, meadows and lake from your king-size bed.

Other comforts include an en-suite bathroom, fireplace and sofa-bed. Dining is a real highlight here, start the day with a hearty Canadian breakfast; all food is grown on site aside from the seafood which is regional.
