Clearwater and Wells Gray Provincial Park

View All Holidays

Take in the majesty of Helmcken Falls and Dawson Falls on a visit to this vast Canadian national park in British Columbia.

Clearwater, a small and welcoming town in British Columbia, is primarily known as a gateway to the Wells Gray National Park and makes a great base for a hiking holiday, or as a stop on a Canada self-drive holiday.

In Wells Gray Provincial Park itself there is an abundance of natural wonders to behold. Trek through forests on various trails to majestic waterfalls, some of which - such as Moul Falls - you can trek behind to explore the hidden caves beyond. The largest of the waterfalls in the park, Helmcken Falls, plunges down some 463 feet to a canyon below. In summer and autumn you might want to stop for a picnic at one of the viewing points here, whilst in winter the icy landscapes surrounding the falls make it an incredible sight to behold. Dawson Falls is equally as impressive and well worth the hike to see it! Of course, along the way there are beautiful glades and plenty of wildlife to spot as you immerse yourself in the grandeur of Canadian nature.
