Set on the shores of Lake Diefenbaker in Southwest Saskatchewan, La Reata Ranch occupies nine miles of water frontage and 5000 acres of land.
Since 1996, this working cattle ranch has been owned and operated by George Gaber who offers up to 16 guests a chance to experience the real Canadian cowboy life.
La Reata is situated a two-hour drive from Saskatoon Airport (transfers available) and is a twenty-minute drive from the nearest town, Kyle.
At La Reata, breakfast and dinner are served in the cook shack and may include home-baked goods, Canadian beef and fresh coffee. Lunch is normally taken on the range around a campfire. Relax after dinner in the Old West Saloon listening to country music, playing darts or pool or learning to two-step dance. There may even be a game of horseshoes or a campfire!
Beer can be purchased at the ranch and hard liquor can be bought in a store nearby or requested in one the supply runs made by the ranch.
The ranch has 6 log cabins decorated in a wooden western style and featuring two queen size beds or a queen bed. Each has a private bathroom with toilet and shower. Weekly cleaning, bedding and toiletries are provided.
