Explore the streets of the New Orleans’ French Quarter with a comfortable stay at this classic hotel.
Rendezvous of the social elite since 1960, the Omni Royal New Orleans is steeped in history.
Constructed from the ruins of the 18th century Creole landmark the Saint Louis Interchange Hotel, the Omni Royal New Orleans was designed to integrate the now-famous St Louis arches that remained and the iconic Spanish wrought iron railings.
Inside, the hotel’s design gives a nod to its grand historic past. Throughout the hotel there are tall plinths topped with marble and brass statues and foyers are illuminated by majestic crystal chandeliers. The classic attire of the rooms and suites suit any taste, with warm neutral tones, traditionally patterned fabrics and dark, heavy wood furnishings.
As one of the few hotels in the French Quarter that welcomes younger guests, the Omni Royal is a great option for families. Upon arrival, children are given a backpack filled with activity books, games, and binoculars to keep them entertained during their stay. On their first night, children are also given milk and cookies just before bedtime to make them feel right at home. Children also love the rooftop pool and the Omni Kids Crew colouring menu available at all the Omni Royal restaurants.
Within the hotel, there are three different restaurants and bars, where guests can find both fine and casual dining. There are also four private dining rooms which can be hired for more intimate affairs, including the 12-seat Pipkin Room, which has been a favourite among the famous names that have visited over the years. The Omni Royal’s dedication to first-class, personable service is evidenced by the highly dedicated long-serving staff, who are as much an institution as the hotel itself. Take Dalton Milton, your maître d’ at the Rib Room, who can provide expert recommendations for the menu and local area because he has been serving at the Omni Royal for over 50 years.
When you’re not soaking up the atmosphere of the hotel, the music-filled streets of the French Quarter are literally right on your doorstep. Perhaps you’ll join the never-ending celebration on Bourbon Street, where jazz and revelry fill every corner, slink away to a quiet corner in one of the many lounge bars where bands and burlesque troupes hit the stage, or wander the famous streets admiring the famed colourful Creole architecture.

Located on the rooftop of the Omni Royal, La Riviera is one of the few places in the French Quarter where you can view the Mississippi River. At La Riviera enjoy a delicious range of cocktails and bar snacks such as Caesar Salads and Jerk Wings, next to the rooftop pool.
Ideally positioned along St. Louis Street, Touché Bar is the ideal place to stop for a quick bite or a cocktail to-go while you’re exploring the historic streets of the French Quarter. The wood panelling and exposed brick work afford a cosy and traditional atmosphere that is enjoyed both by locals and vacationers. Classic American bar snacks such as club sandwiches and po’boys are served, or perhaps you’ll try the buffalo frog’s legs with bleu cheese dressing.
A New Orleans institution for over 50 years, the Rib Room is popular with celebrities, passers-through and locals alike for its reputation for authentic Louisiana cuisine and outstanding service. Home of the washbucket martini, the Rib Room serves an impressive range of vintage wines and spirits as well as New Orleans favourites such as seafood gumbo and turtle soup. This is the place to come to slowly sip and dine while you overlook the street life of the French Quarter from one of the famous Saint Louis Hotel arches. We recommend visiting on a Sunday, when brunch is accompanied by a live jazz band.
