The Chatwal Hotel
The Chatwal Hotel New York occupies a landmark Standford White designed building. Built in 1904-1905, the hotel is located in the heart of the theatre district at 130 West 44th Street. The building was originally the home of America's first professional theatre club, The Lambs Club, where actors would socialise with like minded people.
It has been beautifully restored and modernised and now combines modern luxuries and the glamour of the early 20th century with 1930's art deco designs. Original features have been incorporated into the hotels new modern design, the glamorous 80 seat restaurant features a striking floor to ceiling fireplace, red leather banquettes and bright chrome fittings.
Comprising 76 rooms and suites, The Chatwal Hotel offers exquisitely and richly appointed luxury accommodation, each room is a master piece of Art Deco modernism. Suede covered walls, leather wrapped double wardrobes and nickel trims are some of the 1930's Art Design features in each of the rooms. Sixteen rooms offer lovely terraces to sit out on, and some rooms interconnect, offering good options for families.
