Elk Mountain Ranch
Elk Mountain Lodge is Colorado's highest guest ranch, at a height of 9,600 feet and offers the most awe-inspiring views of the San Isabel National Forest, Collegiate Peaks and the Arkansas Valley. The ranch is just a few hours drive from both Denver and Colorado Springs and accessible via a dirt road. Elk Mountain is well suited to novice riders with its trail rides and welcomes both families and couples, as well as offering an adults only week.
Owned by the Murphy family, it offers an intimate experience with a limit of 30 guests. The nature of the remote high location offers an opportunity to ride alongside countless wildflowers and wildlife, including deer, elk and antelope. In the main lodge, there is a dining area, lodge room filled with games and puzzles and also a Washin' Room for guest use. Meals range from trail ride cook outs to steak frys and candlelight suppers and kids items are also offered. Hot drinks, fresh fruit and cookies are always on offer.
