Rocking Z Ranch is situated midway between Glacier and Yellowstone National Parks and offers guests a combination of a guest and working ranch environment.

Owned by Patty and Zack, this Montana ranch has a truly authentic family atmosphere, particularly with a maximum capacity of 16, the couple's children are wranglers here too! We suggest this ranch for the more experienced rider looking for fantastic riding opportunities. Beginners are of course welcome at the ranch where the Parelli Natural horsemanship technique is taught.

Built in 2000, the eight guest rooms are spread through two buildings and each features an en suite bathroom and a natural gas fireplace. Wireless access is available in most of the lodge and some of the accommodations although phone signal is very patchy. At Rocking Z Ranch, meals are served with the family and are homecooked, often made using produce from the ranch. Snacks are also available and the kitchen operates a relaxed atmosphere. One afternoon in most weeks, there is a wagon-ride and traditional cook-out. The ranch can also cater to different dietary requirements, in particular gluten-free.

About the horses:

The horses here are mostly Quarter horses but there are some Paints, Mustangs, Arabians, a Shetland and Belgians.

What else can I do at the ranch?

Other activities include hiking, fly fishing in the Little Prickly Pear Creek flowing through the ranch (fly fishing license required from a local shop), bird watching and floating down the Missouri River (dependent on weather).
