Amazon Eco Park Jungle Lodge, Manaus
Half an hour by boat from the city of Manaus, on the banks of the Taruma River, the Amazon Eco Park Jungle Lodge is a great option for anyone seeking a taste of the Amazon rainforest.
Despite being close to Manaus, the surrounding forest and waterways make for a fantastic jungle experience. The lodge’s modern yet rustic wooden cabins are dotted amongst well-tended grounds under the canopy and furnished with Amazonian handicrafts. All cabins have their own veranda, screened windows, electric shower, air-conditioning and mini-bar. In front of the lodge is a small white sand beach with sun loungers (subject to seasonality), there is a pavilion with hammocks to relax in, natural swimming pools, an alfresco restaurant serving appetising home-cooked dishes as well as a gift shop and bar.
Due to its location on black water, you can safely swim from the lodge and there are few mosquitos. A variety of excursions are on offer, from guided jungle walks, bird watching tours and fishing to visiting a local community and a local monkey sanctuary.
