Hands up, who’s ready for a holiday?

So, with the latest list of green list destinations including some top holiday spots, now is the perfect time to finally make those dreams a reality.

When will the green list next be updated?

The green list is updated every three weeks. The last changes came into effect on 30 June, with the next review likely to take place on July 15. At this point, more countries may be added, while some could be removed. Any changes will come into effective the week after.

However, it’s not just the green list that your holiday plans depend on.

From 19 July, you can also enjoy a quarantine-free holiday to countries on the amber list, so long as you’re fully vaccinated.

Find out more in our guide to travelling to the amber list.

Not sure what tests you need?

See our COVID-19 Testing for Travel guide and our Traffic Light System FAQs.

How does the green list work?

Countries included on the UK’s green list are free for us to travel to without the need to quarantine on return to the UK.

You’ll just need to take a suitable COVID-19 test 72 hours before arriving back in the UK, fill out a passenger locator form, and carry out a PCR test on your second day home.

However, while we might be free to travel to green list countries, they might not yet be allowing visitors in. For example, Australia is on our green list, but they are yet to open their borders to tourists.

Where can I travel on the green list?

Don’t worry though – there’s still a great selection of destinations on the green list that are ready to welcome visitors from the UK.

They all have slightly different entry requirements, so speak to our Travel Specialists if you’d like to know more about any of them.

Now, without further ado, take a look at some of the best green list holiday destinations this year…

What Does the Amber List Update Mean for Family Holidays

Ceri Foulkes
I love anywhere Mediterranean, especially the Balearics and Greek Islands - though Italian food also draws me in every time! A beach and a book is what makes me happiest.
