Discover the highlights of Tokyo, Kyoto and Hiroshima

Japan is full of culture and history, and this tour packs in adventure; we can arrange a variety of experiences along the way, such as a traditional tea ceremony.

Discover Hiroshima’s history at the Atomic Bomb Dome and the Peace Memorial Museum. Picturesque Miyajima Island is home to the iconic floating torii gate of the Itsukushima Shrine. In Kyoto, you’ll find plenty of traditional buildings, temples and shrines, as well as the famous Geisha district of Gion.

Neon-bright and bursting with pop-culture, Tokyo is always a highlight of a visit to Japan. This bustling city offers plenty in the way of nightlife, gourmet cuisine and shopping, but there are lots of cultural sites and landmarks to visit, too. Just some of the unmissable places include the Imperial Palace, Meiji Shrine and the Tokyo Skytree.

Find great nightlife in Shinjuku, stumble across new fashions in Shibuya and browse the upmarket boutiques and restaurants of Ginza.

Day 1  Hiroshima

Arrive at Hiroshima Airport, where you will be met and transferred to your hotel, Sheraton Grand Hiroshima. Tonight perhaps sample some traditional Japanese food with a dinner of Okonomiyaki – a popular pancake-style dish.

Day 2  Hiroshima

Enjoy a buffet breakfast at the hotel, before heading out with your guide for some amazing sightseeing. Explore the city’s tragic history and see the amazing Genbaku Dome and Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park and Museum. Next travel by ferry to Miyajimaguchi and head to Miyajima, home of the iconic Itsukushima Shrine. Next, you’ll travel by bullet train to Kyoto, and check-in to Hotel Granvia Kyoto.

Day 3  Kyoto

After breakfast, you will journey to the Arashiyama district. Visit the famous bamboo groves and walk across the Togetsukyo Bridge, one of the area’s most recognisable landmarks. If you wish, stop by Tenryuji Temple. This afternoon you will enjoy a guided walk through Kyoto, visiting Tatsumi Bridge, Nishiki Market and the Pontocho area. This evening, enjoy a sushi dinner (optional). Accommodation: Granvia

Day 4  Kyoto

Another day to explore Kyoto. The Fushimi Inari Shrine is an important site in Shintoism and is renowned for its torii gates. Today you’ll also visit Nijo Castle, Ryoanji Temple and the famous Kiyomizu-dera Temple. Walk through the Higashiyama District, stopping in the historic districts of Sannen-zaka and Ninen-zaka, the perfectly preserved Nene no Michi Lane and at Yasaka Pagoda. Accommodation: Granvia

Day 5  Kyoto

Head to the station for your bullet train journey on to Tokyo. Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel, the Keio Plaza. Today you will have the chance to visit the Meiji Shrine and tour the bustling Shibuya District. Tonight, perhaps enjoy an entertaining teppanyaki dinner. Accommodation: Granvia

Day 6  Tokyo

Take in spectacular panoramic views of the city from the Tokyo Skytree; the tallest building in Japan is also home to an aquarium and a shopping mall. Next, you will visit the Sensoji Temple before heading to Ginza for a traditional tea experience. This evening there is an option for a dinner cruise along the Sumida River. Accommodation: Keio Plaza
