This action-packed, two-week self-drive holiday covers New Zealand’s North and South Island. Perfect for friends or family, it is based on four people travelling together. Itinerary

Day 1  UK to Auckland
Board your flight to New Zealand from the UK. If you wish to break your journey, there are several stopover opportunities for you to choose from - including the Middle East, the Far East and North America.
Day 2  Arrive Auckland
Collect your rental car at Auckland Airport and make your way to your hotel. Hotel - The Sebel Quay West Auckland
Day 3  Auckland
A day for you to explore Auckland at leisure. You may like to visit the Auckland Sky Tower to admire the views of the city, or brave the adrenalin-pumping Auckland Bridge Climb. Hotel - The Sebel Quay West Auckland
Day 4  Auckland – Waitomo - Rotorua (217 miles)
Today, head to the ancient limestone Waitomo Caves region, passing lush hills and sprawling pastureland. Join a guided boat tour as you explore a maze of caves and rivers beneath the surface, as millions of glow worms shine on the cavern roof above. From here, head to the geothermal region of Rotorua – the enchanting stream drifts and the distinctive smell of sulphur will let you know when you’ve arrived! Hotel - Ramada Resort Rotorua
Day 5  Rotorua
A full day at leisure in enchanting Rotorua. Recommended optional excursions here include a zipline adventure on the Rotorua Canopy Tour, Rainbow Springs Nature Park, and the Agrodome sheep show. Day 7  Rotorua – Christchurch BY AIR

Day 8  Christchurch – Dunedin (225 miles)

Day 10  Dunedin – Queenstown (178 miles)

Today, ride the Skyline Queenstown Gondola to the top of Bob’s Peak and enjoy a spectacular 220-degree panorama, with breathtaking views of Coronet Peak and over the city. Day 13  Queenstown – Lake Tekapo (159 miles)
Head from Queenstown to Lake Tekapo, passing striking beech forests, alpine fields and weaving river valleys.
