Itinerary

Day 1  Arrive Broome
Upon arrival, you will be transferred the short distance from the airport to your hotel by coach. The evening is at your leisure; we suggest taking a stroll to Cable Beach with a chilled bottle of wine or a frosty cold beer to witness its enchanting sunsets.
Day 2  Broome
Broome has many fascinating natural attractions to discover, including the red ochre cliffs and dinosaur footprints at Gantheaume Point. Scenic flights can take you out over the Buccaneer Archipelago and Cape Leveque, where the contrasting colours of the red cliffs, snow-white sand and turquoise sea all meet. Broome was built on the pearling trade, so a visit isn’t complete without a cruise to Willie Creek Pearl Farm.
Day 3  Broome to Bell Gorge Wilderness Lodge (359 miles)
Bell Gorge Wilderness Lodge, Western Australia
Today you will collect your 4WD rental vehicle and be heading onto the unsealed and corrugated road of the Gibb River Road. Travel northwest to wade through the cool waters at Tunnel Creek National Park and make time to stop at Windjana Gorge National Park. Continue travelling on the Gibb River Road until you reach Saddlers Creek crossing, the entry point for Imintji Safari Camp. Hotel - Bell Gorge Wilderness Lodge
Day 4   Bell Gorge Wilderness Lodge to Mount Elizabeth Station (90 miles)
Continue your off-road adventure along Kimberley’s Gibb River Road to Mount Elizabeth. Stops worth considering include Galvan’s and Barnett Gorge. Picturesque Galvan’s Gorge is a delightful place for a refreshing dip in the rockpool, which is fed by a multi-tiered waterfall; here you can also find a fine specimen of Wandjina rock art. Ensure you refuel at Mount Barnett before arriving at your accommodation, the Mount Elizabeth working cattle station. Hotel – Mt Elizabeth Station
Day 5  Mount Elizabeth to El Questro (197 miles)
El Questro Station, Western Australia

A challenging drive along the Gibb River Road brings you to El Questro Wilderness Park, an untamed wilderness of deep gorges, thermal springs and cascading waterfalls in the heart of the Kimberley region.
Hotel – El Questro – Emma Gorge Tented Cabin

Day 6  El Questro Wilderness Park
El Questro Station, Western Australia

With 700,000 acres to explore, we suggest opting for a guided activity, such a cruise through Chamberlain Gorge, bursting with diverse flora and fauna. 4WD adventures include guided barramundi fishing tours or exploring remote gorges; horseback riding takes you off the beaten track; and scenic helicopter flights transport you over gorges and majestic mountain ranges. Fly to pristine swimming holes or fly over Mitchell Falls and the rugged Kimberley coast.
Hotel – El Questro – Emma Gorge Tented Cabin

Purnululu National Park, Western Australia

Hotel - Bungle Bungle Wilderness Lodge
Day 8  Purnululu National Park
Purnululu National Park, Western Australia
Your day is at your leisure to explore the Purnululu National Park. From the air, the black and orange beehive domes of the Bungle Bungle range are an impressive sight, rising 200 metres above the plain and giving way to reveal hidden gorges and pools. Explore Piccaninny Creek and Cathedral Gorge. Hotel - Bungle Bungle Wilderness Lodge
Day 9  Purnululu National Park to Kununurra (205 miles)
Today’s journey takes you back on the Spring Creek Track leading once again to the Great Northern Highway. Hotel - Ibis Styles Kununurra
Day 10  Kununurra to Katherine (320 miles)
Katherine, Northern Territory
Your adventure today leads to the Northern Territory and the town of Katherine. As you travel southeast of Kununurra towards the border, consider stopping at Lake Argyle. The lake is 72 kilometres from Kununurra. The Victoria Highway will take you through the town of Timber Creek and the Gregory National Park before reaching today’s destination of Katherine. Hotel - Ibis Styles Katherine
Day 11  Katherine to Darwin (196 miles)

Take a leisurely drive to Darwin, the capital city of the Northern Territory. The rest of the day is at your leisure to explore the city at your own pace.
