Australia's Princes Highway links two of Australia's greatest cities, Sydney and Melbourne, and offers an abundance of experiences along the way. Spot dolphins or whales, kayak on peaceful lagoons, stroll along deserted beaches, explore the majestic caverns at Buchan Caves and watch Phillip Island's little penguins return to their burrows at sunset.
This is a less travelled route than the more popular northbound Pacific Highway, which links Sydney with Brisbane, yet none the less beautiful and exciting. Our 12-night tailor-made fly-drive takes you on a journey through National Parks and along spectacular coastal drives.
Stop at quaint, sleepy seaside towns where you can stroll along deserted pristine beaches or kayak on peaceful lagoons and lakes. Spot dolphins off-shore or on a boat cruise and enjoy fresh oysters plucked straight out of the water.
Enjoy nature walks or head underground and explore Buchan Caves, listen to the sound of the sand, as you walk along Squeaky Beach at Wilsons Promontory. Watch playful Australian fur seals at Seal Rocks and little penguins return from a day at sea as they gingerly run up the beach to their burrows at Summerfield Beach on Phillip Island.
Complete your Coastal Fly-Drive in cosmopolitan Melbourne, with its skyscrapers interspersed with Victorian architecture, a city with a vibrant dining and art scene.
A full day for you to see Sydney at your own pace, or we can arrange a variety of excursions for you in and around Sydney, its beaches and impressive harbour. Sydney is easily explored on foot with many attractions close by your hotel including Darling Harbour, the historic Rocks district, the Royal Botanical Gardens and Circular Quay, from where you can take a ferry ride around the harbour.
There is plenty to keep you entertained in Sydney for several days, you may wish to follow the Bondi to Coogee walk, following the cliff top from Bondi’s famous beach, passing through seaside neighbourhoods and past secluded coves such as Tamarama and Clovelly. Or take a tour or train up to the Blue Mountains and take in the spectacular vistas over Jamison Valley and the Three Sisters rock formations.
After collecting your rental car this morning, drive south past Botany Bay, where James Cook first landed on the shores of Australia on HMS Endeavour in 1770. Leave the Princes Highway at Royal National Park and follow the Grand Pacific Drive for spectacular coastal scenery. Stop at Hyams Beach, claimed to have the whitest sand in the world, and make sure you take a dolphin cruise on arrival in Jervis Bay.

After passing over the border into Victoria you will arrive Gipsy Point on the Wallagaraugh River.
