Day 1  Airport - Negombo
On arrival you will be met by an Inspiring Travel Company representative and transfer the short distance to your hotel in Negombo. Jetwing Beach Hotel is ideally located on an excellent stretch of beach just 30 minutes from the airport and provides the perfect place to relax after an international flight before starting your tour.
Staying at  Jetwing Beach
Day 2  Negombo - Habarana
Drive to Habarana via the elephant orphanage. Spend the afternoon at leisure. Stay two nights at Cinnamon Lodge (or similar), with comfortable and spacious cottages sprinkled across the property. This is the central point of Sri Lanka’s cultural triangle and the most convenient base for excursions to the Ancient historical cities. Hundreds of lakes and reservoirs are connected by an elaborate network of canals and make up a fascinating irrigation system.
Day 3  Sigirya Rock Fortress
Visit Sigirya rock fortress, then Minneriya National Park for a safari drive. Sigiriya Rock Fortress is one of seven World Heritage Sites in Sri Lanka. This ancient rock fortress is a testament to ancient artistry and architectural ingenuity, and has many attractions - its gardens, the world renowned frescoes, the mirror wall and the dramatic history linked to the construction of the Lion Rock. Spend the afternoon at leisure or take an optional elephant back safari or jeep safari.
Day 4  Habarana - Nuwara Eliya
This morning head off to the quiet town of Nuwara Eliya, a journey of approximately 5 hours. At an altitude of nearly 2000 metres above sea level, Nuwara Eliya is considered to be the most important location for tea production in Sri Lanka. The hillsides are blanketed with tea plantations and several estates offer guided tours so you can learn about the process of making your morning cuppa!
Day 5  Highland Tea Country
Today you will visit a tea plantation and factory, to observe the processes of manufacturing tea, from the tender green tips picked to the grading and packing. Taste a cup of pure Ceylon tea to check the quality in the factory! The remainder of the day is at leisure to enjoy the highland tea country.
Day 6  Nuwara Eliya - Uda Walawe National Park
Drive to Uda Walawe National Park. Udawalawe was established in 1972, covering an area of 30, 821 hectares and surrounded by magnificent mountain escarpments and lush scenery. Elephants are plentiful, with herds often playing in the water.
Day 7  Uda Walawe National Park - Yala National Park
Continue to Yala national Park. Spend two nights at Cinnamon Wild (or similar). Yala National park is one of Sri Lanka’s best know and most popular national parks. Originally the park was well known for its open terrain and resident Elephants. In recent years the relatively high population and regular sightings of the elusive Leopard have made the park a key stop on any tour of Sri Lanka. Other animals you may see include Elephants, Sloth Bears, Water Buffalo and 215 species of bird.
Day 8  Yala National Park
Enjoy early morning and late afternoon safari drives in Yala National Park.
Staying at  Cinnamon Wild
Day 9  Yala National Park - Bentota
Say goodbye to Yala and head to Bentota for a chance to relax on one of Sri Lanka’s famous beaches.
